That speech was utterly incoherent. Pence’s was, surprisingly, worse. But the key thing is that news stations were saying they’d switch off if Trump claimed victory. They didn’t.

Always better to credit your opponent. People live different lives, make different choices.

Yes but he’s up in several states without the postal votes being counted so he’s essentially saying “I won” counting the rest of the votes is cheating.

Just got in a massive argument with my colleague who is super happy that Trump has announced himself the winner and thinks it's good he's "shaking up the system". I might move seats for the next couple of weeks.

I get that, but as depressing as his bullshit is, I was just wanting to know that there’s no way he can actually stop votes being counted.

Courts can stop endless recounts. They did for Florida and Bush Jr.

He’d need to go to each state court where he wants to stop the count, once he’s lost there he can appeal all the way up to the Supreme Court.

Im feeling slightly confident, can’t wait for the next bout of crushing anxiety in about 20 mins.
