  • @mustard good to hear they're performing well, the bike's not going to be ridden hard daily so should be up to the job. Interesting point and can see the logic in that, if Shimano continue sticking to cup & cone attitudes will probably change given time.

@alialias understood. More a fan of neo-retro builds that are sympathetic to the original look instead of murdering out with all black parts.

  • Really nicely done man, this is gonna be a mad good build for sure.

  • Get the 9000 cranks, they look badass IMO

  • @voxelwise think it's mainly down to the lovely frame, going to savour riding this one I think. Cheers

@rogan I'm thinking this for a possible phase II HHSRB look ;)

  • rival works but the mismatch is hard to handle .. 6800 is the nearest cranks I can think working (quite literally too as nothing shifts as well as shimano) with the anodised grey. 9000 wont work IMO aesthetically and its done over and over again in the HHSRB world.

  • Don't worry chainset is temporary until I can calculate optimal crank length, then a 6800 unit will be fitted. Fair comment about 9000, also the lack of cohesion would annoy me.

  • take as many pics as you ca before the anodising wears off the rims

  • ^ this.

    Wheels look great

  • This frame + gummies = denchy

  • Lovely! I'm still seeing pink bar tape if close enough match to the frame. (Or white otherwise.)

  • Just the exciting update you've been waiting for... bottle cages (King stainless). Bar tape and cables should be arriving this week, so pos ride-able by the weekend? \0/

  • I want it back!!!

    Wonderful

  • Don't listed to Amey... get the DA 9000 cranks!

  • Paselas tho

  • If you're going tan wall at least treat her to something soft.

  • Had these lying around the flat so just chucked them on but sure I'll get some Challenge/Veloflex goodness in time. Started cabling up last night and made the unforgivable mistake of using the rear brake cable for the front and cutting it, so now don't have one long enough for the rear. Quite a low moment but we're trying to move forward.

  • The moser has internal cabling so the rear cable will be in two pieces anyway wont it?
Veloflexs are going to look so hot on this

  • But the inner cable will be in one piece - it was the inner cable I sinfully snipped.

  • Ah shit my mistake, ah man, hate it when that happens, my thoughts go out to you

  • Unforgivable.

  • Quick 5 minute test ride and it feels great, even with the tyres a bit flat and the gears not indexed it's ultra smooth. The brakes really are surprisingly good, a couple of times stopping a meter short at junctions thinking it'd take longer to stop. Very impressed.
