No more unreasonably than assuming the majority of the people in the article voted leave so are getting what they deserve.
-

True that the schadenfreude would have been higher if the journalist had asked.
Like I said, I hope that guy was a leave voter though.

I'd rather avoid concreting over large areas of countryside at all regardless of how people voted, and if it has to be done at least go through planning and consultation.

Paid in arrears at the end of the month.
Come on. No one pays upfront these days

Today has been the shittiest day. I have dual Irish British citizenship but it still hit hard this morning.

Oh absolutely. But if it has to go somewhere, it’s probably best for it to be in the back gardens of people who in all likelihood voted for it.

And although I live in Kent, logistically it should be as close to the main relevant transit hubs as possible.
Still. Bet the owners of that field basically named their price to the government.

My Euro coin still works in supermarket trolleys, so it's not all bad.

Not with Compulsory Purchase. They will be given market value, if they're lucky.

There's probably a link to a party donor somewhere and paying over the odds.

I thought there was still ability to argue though. Back when the Ctrl was being built the government compulsory purchased our house because it was going to take 1ft off our garden. My parents were able to negotiate a slightly higher price due to modifications made.

Sorry to hear that.

But what about the fish? Have they dragged them all back into OUR waters?

Sadly, and after spending all that money public money on European Research, they don’t have the first idea of what they actually want to do, and what benefits there might be.

I really don't know if he tried to make it clear to Boris his lies from the start when he went into journalism are unacceptable, his brothers and sister seem ok people.
Maybe he's a bad egg, maybe a damaged person...maybe both. I don't know enough really and parents can't work miracles.

I think the point is that Leave didn’t have to mean lorry park.
This.
They didn’t foresee turning the area into the Republic of Kent, none of us did, it was a last minutes effort in mid 2020.

Anybody in Kent that voted conservatives in 2019 knowing full well the plan was to leave the customs union and single market.
Even that wasn’t clear and our government said Leave doesn’t mean we’ll leave the single market.

I’m not sure I agree with that, it was very much the direction of travel at that stage. Freedom of movement had very much been ruled out way before the 2019 general election which meant we were leaving the single market.

Not clear in 2019?
How so? Reading between the lines it was pretty clear.
Now I didn't read the Cons oven ready deal list of they were still promising cu and sm access.
While acting completely against it with their demands and all the voting against May...then they have lied in their manifesto.

Before 2019, there was lots of vagueness in term of what Brexit mean beside the hardcore view of a no deal.
The custom union was very rarely mentioned during the actual Leave campaigning.
Anybody in Kent that voted conservatives in 2019 knowing full well the plan was to leave the customs union and single market really didn't think it through. Actions have consequences.
But I'm not sure the placement of said lorry parks with no consultation in the area is particularly ok. Cos fair processes are for all of us not just remainers.
Edit 1 labour 17 cons seats in Kent area.
