  • WHITE SUPREMACIST now!

    Please, tell me more ...

You are a malignant narcissist here only to fuel your own self importance, so no - I'm not going to engage with your troll-factory script.

I will tell you something though - you're going to lose this culture war that you are fighting.

Unless and until you work out how to make an athletic sock bear to term, that is.

  • Since you've gone back to the Murray book and you've taken the time to respond to every comment other than this would you be so kind as to explain your position regarding JWestland's point please?

Then ask yourself if people like Murray stand up for immigrants and
Muslims who fight for liberal values.

If all they do is push the line of "but immigration us destroying
liberal values" but say f all about windrush and the increased hate
    crime after Brexit, cha...

  • Of course you are, you pathetic little shit-stain.

You are painfully cliched when it comes to everything you seek to deny about yourself.

  • The review you quoted is just "makes sense pub chat", that doesn't stand up to any scrutiny if you actually take the claims one-by-one. In fact all of the positive reviews I read follow that theme.

What's you're definition of "European Values". Speaking as European myself, I'd say I hold traditional European values. Respect for human dignity and human rights, freedom, democracy. Unless I've missed something?

I think they are hard to define and have shifted through time. But if pushed I'd say Traditional European Values are; 1) Christian teachings at tension with Enlightenment thinking, and 2) European exceptionalism.

I think you could make a case for the ones you listed as being post-WW2 values - in particular HR. But otherwise I think it's revisionism not born out by our history. In fact I think that's one of the reasons some people feel a loss of identity. You can't logically maintain philosophy of European Supremacy/exceptionalism and Christian values in a modern consumer society where individual rights are paramount.

  • Ehm, if people should be treated as individuals, does that not work as an argument against the "but non liberal non EU immigrants are destroying EU values!!!" ?

Cos that is in a nutshell the argument of a lot of the anti immigration groups, putting everyone in the same group-identity.

"EU migrants have been able to “treat the UK as if it’s part of their own country” for too long, Boris Johnson said yesterday as he reprised the core message of Vote Leave’s 2016 EU referendum campaign."

    Liberal values at work?

Wow, I wish I were surprised, but I am not. This going to be a hard ass week as a Dutch immigrant, either 13th is going to be waking up the 27th of June 2016, again, or there will be some hope.

  • I can't' say I've been following that much of Murray's work to really pass comment TBH.

    Lies.

  • He's a cunt so people seem to think you might be him.

  • Btw, his name has been said three times, we should expect to see him and several sockpuppets conjured henceforth.

  • This guy!

It's a perfect eg of why anyone who thinks they can trust him, or that he has any real beliefs (outside himself) is smoking crack.

The number of times I've heard him preach in favour of FOM and immigration... Not to mention that all the people I know who are or have been fanboys are also in favour of FOM and immigration... I can't even.

My prediction of Johnson's post Brexit world is one with increased immigration, but with a reclassification of the numbers. Perhaps where we include the number of tourists leaving the UK.

  • To clarify, I'm not into the group-identity thing.

Yes. That's your group identity. The group which rejects group identities. See the problem?

  • Yeah I agree. I think he is a hollow shell and a "moral windsock" (tx John Oliver), useful idiot etc... but he is also happy to let Priti Patel run immigration. That "less than 0" instantly starting venting about ending FOM NOW!

I expect the utter nastiness towards immigrants from the HO will continue, because he will do what suits him. And she and Gove will do what suit them, a few more thrown under the bus, well who cares?

So the fanbois brushing it off with "oh he doesn't mean it..." isn't going to help me or any immigrant, the damaging policies will continue.

We are still in a situation where unregistered EU immigrants/those with complex situations (taken in care by an EU immigrant, but not from the EU themselves) are at risk 1 January 2021.

Of course the denial about this is huge, even though the HO itself admitted this, but ok...

  • I am wondering how you define a group though.

Cos you agree with me calling out very generalized and I think imbalanced criticism of islam/immigration, and you rather treat people are individuals.

So, do you group people by beliefs, but if so, in what detail? Or not at all?
Would you count everyone in the UK as group, or not?
    Or maybe a town?
Or just people in a political party?
    Or...?

  • ^Just dabbling in a little identity politics there.

  • Someone knocking on the door of type II it would appear.

  • You're all as bad as each other; the tedious troll keeps turning up and the same people keep giving him the attention he wants and another thread gets cluttered up with this drivel. Just put him on ignore and spare the rest of us.

The US Federal Trade Commission has issued what looks to be a largely symbolic ruling against the remnants of data-harvesting marketers Cambridge Analytica.

In a unanimous 5-0 ruling (PDF) issued on Friday, the trade body declared that the defunct British marketing intelligence operation ran afoul of laws against deceptive business practices and was in violation of the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework.

    Horse, stabledoor, bolted...

  • Listen to Will, he talks sense.

  • I also agree with Will.

  • I always swing back and forth over the CA debacle. On the one hand it seems believable. On the other, it sounds like a bunch of ad guys pitching their product.

At the heart of it though you do have the illegal and immoral use of person data.

  • Is he the junior-coalition-partner type, though?

  • He's definitely not a junior type.
