Not a road frame but the best example I can find of where I envisioned the split.

Rich. You have made a mistake. Because you need to now buy colour matched CK hubs :-)

I see no mistake here...

I'm gonna take that as a compliment, or a request for more colour renders...

Are these photos all done in BikeCAD?

Are we still talking paintjob? Please do this:
It's next on my list but I don't have any more frames to get painted so someone else will have to do it and put up with my staring wistfully at their frame all the time.

i'd go for black at the back for dirt hiding laziness

Black and matching CK components looks good with basically any colour anodising. But yes. Orange is good.

Yup.

I have to be honest and say that's not really working for me.

Gloss black with a sparkle laquer (preferably one with blue-purple flecks). Silver or charcoal decals.
Then choose a silver headset, keep it classic (like the frame) and forget all of this overpriced naff ano stuff.

What should I use to communicate the colours to the builder? @Captain_P did you give a RAL code?
-
• #319
Yes, I used RAL. Pretty sure that's one of the only paint codes they can't completely fuck up in.
-
• #320
Thank you!
-
• #321
Well, Mielec fucked up my RAL Code instructions. But that's another story..
RAL Code should be quite secure. -
• #322
I think putting Mielec and Rychtarski in the same league would be a massive insult to the latter.
And so much for no blinging CK!
-
• #323
Fair enough, didn't want to compare anything anyway.
Just commenting on the unfuckupability of RAL Color Codes. -
• #324
you decided what you're doing for paint then?
-
• #325
Beige, with green highlights.
I think that depends - flat-back is very much played out I think.
