Tempted by this, have you done it before Hippy?

I'm pretty sure I have. I really enjoyed a lot of the Chiltern Reliabilities and I think this slotted in there somewhere.
If it's the same route as I nicked when I first rode it then I've used it quite a bit as a solo training ride. I recall bailing very early on last year though as there was too much ice about for me to consider it safe. I think they might've removed the hill at the start that is prone to flooding so this is probably not an issue.
Anyway it's on some scrappy lanes and goes up some big hills so it's pretty much bang on for a ride in the Chilterns.

Yeah "Those of you who have ridden before, please note, we have made a couple of changes to the route for 2015. The main difference is that we no longer go up Botterills Lane early in the morning when the risk of ice on the section of the road which is permanently flooded is greatest. We now go out the way we used to come back through Beaconsfield and the new route back goes via some more very pretty and quiet lanes."

Right, signed up for the new short route 44km, which has elevation gains of 400m. Not up to climbing this early in the year!

Beds Road CC Reliability rides - 8th and 22nd Feb around Bedford.
We welcome riders from all clubs to join in with this ever popular event. Our last RR attracted 167 riders - the free soup, buns and raucous banter back at the club house makes for a great social event.
Enter the first one, you get the second for free.
Initial details at http://bedsroad.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10457#10457 but keep an eye out for any changes due to weather, roadworks etc.

Hmm, if I rode out, it would make it a 285k day. Unlikely but I'll throw it in anyway.

@hippy - Did I speak with you today top of Noakes Lane? Ozzie guy on a red specialised with deep carbon and 6800? I was on a Blue De Rosa with pink Waffa bottle.
Only realised when I cycled off it may have been...
Anyway, great ride today - perfect weather and not too much debris on the road. Went wrong twice (Longbottom lane and St Pauls Hill) so eneded doing just over 50km in 2 hours....
Had more in the tank wish I had gone longer.
8/10 would highly recommend, thanks to Westerley cc for organised, well signed route with friendly faces. Free coffee and rolls at the end was awesome!
