Do you think Steve will ever do the consecutive 300 mile days as initially forecast? Or do you think he has taken a leaf out of Kurts book and will just try and be consistently slightly over WR pace day in day out?

Steve cycles at a speed (wattage) that is sustainable for him; with no breaks, 300mi/15mph is 20 hours, not sustainable.
If you look at the graphs on the brilliant YACF 'visualising the OYTT' thread then it shows that he is projected to surpass Kurt's rate of distance/time.
It is a war of endurance/attrition though, I know I could not do it..

I don't think he uses a power meter, I think he does it by feel, but keeps an eye on his HR and aims to keep this low (26.7kph average at 89bpm average, frightening).
The original plans (http://oneyeartimetrial.org.uk/the-preparation) had him do the longer days in the summer months (warmer and more daylight) so if he continues with the restarted attempt (from 8th August) then he'll be in great shape come June/July/August 2016 so, yes, I think he'll be pushing close to 300 miles/day then. He was planning on only having 6/7/8 hours off the bike a day in those months.

I note from the UMCA pages that Miles has started attempt number 3...
I've just updated https://goo.gl/RBHtiS to include the latest official UMCA results, but I've not put Miles attempt #3 on there yet.
Oh yes, and old Ironox hasn't ridden officially since May.

attempt number 3
I didn't realise he was on attempt number 2?
He regularly seems to do c.170ish miles, but Jo's fabulous charts show he's nowhere near Godwin pace recently.

It looks like Steve is on target but only just. Is there any news as to what his plan is, whether the mileage will be upped for a bit of a buffer or just to keep on doing slightly over the average required?

SA's finally cottoned on to the fact that time in the little chef is not contributing to his mileage..
