yes, to start the indexing from scratch with the software is a necessity. basically your firmware doesn't know which cog the chain is on
-
• #378
Can you reset the mid point for the adjustment on the software? The firmware has all been updated.
The software remembers that I have it 'trimmed' to +12.
I think I basically need +13/14 if that makes sense.

i think +12 is extreme

So do I, I'm borrowing a frame alignment tool.
Just changed derailleur hanger x 2, what are the chances they are both out of alignment... -

And something very silly:
6.2kg

Glad the headset turned up. Will PM you

Hope you've got some lighter cranks
-

The Vision cranks are outrageously heavy.
Going to put DA7710 on it, with DA octalink Bb which should drop the weight quite a bit.I have lighter cogs, chainring and chain to go on too, along with your old hill climb tubulars, which should get the weight closer to 5kg...

Hanger alignment was out by a crazy amount... wouldn’t have expected it to be as the hanger is new, but I’m told that the frame alignment out the factory might mean that the hanger might be expected to be bent into shape...

good, that dosent sound totally implausible, but i wonder what's the logic behind that... 10 11 or 12 speed cassettes ?

Once you've manufactured your carbon frame, I suppose if the dropouts are out by 1-2mm, you can take up the slack with a removable hanger.
Going to buy my own alignment tool, might go to explain all the niggling rear shifting problems I've had on bikes in the past.... -

This is probably going to move as a permanent bike in France to replace the Argos.
Currently 7.8kg which isn’t bad for a steel bike.
Any choice upgrades I could make in the next 1.5 weeks before I ferry over for a month?

Mainly because Sram Rival is a bit clunky compared to what I’m used to...

Silver Chris King headset on the way.
I guess that now means silver finishing kit... -

Silver Chris King on, silver Pro PLT stem.
Needs lower stem angle I think, anyone know of any silver -10 / -12 stems?I can only think of Thomson.

Extralite if you scrub the anodising off. Otherwise Thomson as you say. I spend days looking through it all and they’re the only high end ones I could find.. T

Very nice. Silver Rival, lovely. Matching seatpost, just to finish things off.

thomson stems aren't high end
-

I have a Thomson -12 120mm for sale...

Well made then ;) there aren’t many decent 10/12deg stems out there. Zipp have a carbon one at 12deg. SWorks, Vibe and Specialized (adjustable) also do 12d but all black. Otherwise I’ve been using Extralite. Now gone to a Deda Superleggero RS at 8deg which has an insanely low stack so work almost like a 10deg. T

I got the Pro PLT stem because I was sure it was going to be -10.
Alas it was -6. Looks ok de-stickered though.Because I have small frame and relatively long stem, I think a -10/-12 is aesthetically necessary.

Is it -12 or -10?
Can you get it to me for Wednesday? (I’m in Southampton) -
• #399
There’s a stem calculator online. Really useful for checking everything and saves a lot of money too. But yeah, unfortunately not a huge choice out there. Agree though it’d look smoother with 10/12 odd. T

The front end angle was better with the above Pro vibe stem for sure.
What’s the consensus on (debadged) black stem on silver headset?
I can do, will that help?
