  • Recommendation for external 1 1/8 headsets for the Principia and the Ritchey Breakaway steel?
Both are a bit grubby and notchy.

Ideally with a fairly low stack at the top.

  • Also any recommendations for handlebars for the Ritchey CX? Going back to eTap on this!

  • Looks awesome in both track and road mode

Exit: would de-logo all the black parts though

  • Stem is changing to a 130mm Zipp Sprint and need to order a slammed headset dust cap.

Decals aren’t that easy to remove on the forks and the AM wheels sadly, but do have a stealthy Reynolds Carbon wheelset to go on for any racing.

  • Freshened up the Principia.
Should I change the Duraace 7700 groupset to Sram Force 1 52t?

  • That looks great, personally I like the 7700, looks well classy.

Noted you use the Power on most of you bikes, any tips for max comfort? I just picked up an Expert and I'm not happy with it, I normally set my saddles dead level but perhaps these would work better nose down slightly? Also, does the leather polish off at all? Currently grips my lycra like a mofo.

  • The pleather doesn’t really get smoother.

I’ve got the Power saddle angled down a bit and I sort of sit back into it and forget about it. It’s not really for moving around on if you’re used to something like an Arione.

Get the position right and it’s really comfortable. It goes back further than you’d expect because the nose is cut off.

  • Thanks, after a bit of tweaking and a change of bibs I'm getting on with it a lot better.

Do let me know if you want to shift any of those DA 9000 165's!

  • Put Sram eTap back on the Ritchey Ti:

With Aldhu 165mm cranks, with BSA30 BB and SRAM rings.
H+son archetypes on powertap g3 for power.

Thinking maybe of going back to Shorty ultimates. If I get a problem solver long drop canti hanger, it has the added benefit of being clamped to the fork steerer. I’ll need a low stack headset cover though, and use linked cable housing to manage the tight cable runs.

  • Chris King installed on the Principia.
Hammered at the crown race on the Principia fork, couldn’t get it off.

    Any tips?

For now, installed my weight weenie Ritchey WCS fork.

  • Ahhh yissss

  • 130mm matt Zipp sprint stem and bar end shifter to neaten things up.
This is why I needed those Aerofly bars @Dick

  • Woah! so cool!

  • Uuuh stealthmode - weight?

Id swap stems with the principia. Sprint looks too bold an it imho

  • I have 2 130mm sprint stems 😅

  • Want the S works logos in black retro reflective for even more stealth.

  • Perfectly understandable!

Somehow this bi-coloured crank is somehow in the way of this approach though...

(i think i have seen exactly one bike in my life where this colour scheme makes sense)

  • I think Duraace 9000 is allowed on stealth builds, because it’s pretty.

I could go Sram red eTap on this (which is still on the cards) with bb30 cranks would drop a fair amount of weight.

Current weight is 6.75kg, with Zipp Stem and alloy rail saddle.

  • Brake cables and outers are now about 1-2cm too short...
Probably put it back to 120mm while I sort out the bar end junction box and routing.

  • Brutal!!!!

  • And now for some reason I can't get the rear mech to index properly... its slow on the largest 4 cogs, jumps 2 when coming down the cog.

Feels like I need to micro adjust down, but there are no further steps to go down! Its driving me mad...
