• #803
Very very nice.

I think was about £60 for all the bits so £0.86 per gram.
It all came via DPD, about 3 days after I ordered them as well which is pretty cool considering they were shipped from Taiwan.

Anyone got some speedplays for sale?
-
• #809
They look great, defo keen to upgrade mine. The axles on mine look like shit now!

i know the axle change is the common diy on here, but has anyone had any success replacing the bearings? got a well used standard cromo pair on the daily commuter and some play has recently developed in both sides so you can actually wiggle the pedal body slightly. keen to try and replace the bearings and get some more life out of them. the ebay j&l guys sell a kit, link below. only differences are the bearings have rubber seals as opposed to the metal shielded ones which (i think) are standard in the pedals. any advantage to one over the other?

Anyone have any idea where I can get hold of the screws for mounting Frog cleats to the shoes? I think they are 5x9mm but can't find anywhere online that has them and I need to replace one where the head is trashed :(

Fleabay?

I bought a complete bearing kit from a UK seller on eBay, it was £12 delivered.
It's easy enough but you need to heat the Torx bolt to break the loctite on the threads, i used a soldering iron. These bolts round off really easily if you don't heat them to break the loctite and then it's a pain to get sorted.

Yeh I looks on there and it looks like ordering from the US or cantilevers just to get the bolts. I stupidly assumed these bolts would be easy to get/ universal but others I have tried don't sit flush like the speedplay supplied ones do

• #816
did the bearings you replaced with have rubber or metal seals? how did you get the snap ring out that hold the roller bearing in place?
-
• #817
hah! you were the one I bought them off :)
Been planning to book a fitting with scherrit so will helpfully sort it out then
-
• #818
I'll just leave this here.
-
• #819
metal. this is the kit i bought
I used a pick to get the snap ring out, you can buy them in sets quite cheaply

Ordered speedplay zeroes with walkable cleats - do I also need cleat covers? If so, where can I buy cheap ones?
-
• #821
no, you don't need covers with walkable cleats
-
• #822
The plugs?
No, they come with them.

• #823
excellent! thanks for the info!

Anyone want rid of a pair of Speedplays?
Edit: caved and bought a pair of white chromo Zeros just now...
In terms of Zeros is there any difference between the body on chromo/stainless/ti models aside from the bowtie?
Probably going to upgrade the shafts to ti at some point but not sure about the bodies?

Best deal on speedplays at the moment?
Upgraded all the metal bits to ti (J&L eBay) and they now weigh 135g. They were 205g before.
