    I've put on some Challenge Parigi-Roubaix. It was a real wrestle to get them, I've never had to fight so hard in all my life to get a tire on a rim. Fingers are sore.

    My TB14s are also utter cunts to get tyres onto. Wire bead or Kevlar, you're gonna fight 'em.

  • P-R from challenge is just another animal than other hard tires. Idd incredibly frustrating the first time. But allrdy by my 2nd puncture they were very easy to get on and off actually.

  • The Roubaix tyres isn't helping that further by being completely flat that make it difficult.

    Got rid of mine after getting punctures regularly (moreso when going through towpath), best served as a race tyres, nothing more.

    SB, save yourself before it happen, get a different tyres.

    Thought i would pipe up on inline posts-

    Isn't it femur vs inseam length that dictates post setback. Relatively short femurs and longer tibia may require an inline post for the same saddle height. An inline or setback post gets gets your knee over the pedal axle at the front of the stroke depending on the femur length and independent of frame geometry.

    Messing with seat tube angle has knock on affects that can really ruin handling.

    I have recently switched to an inline post on my recent build and wont look back.

    Only if you set your saddle very forward to the point that all your body weight is on the handlebar rather than distributed between the saddle and bar.

    Modern saddle nowadays have quite a long rail enough to set it to the idea position that made setback seatpost almost redundant, the only main reason for the setback is the additional comfort.

  • Ideally you don't want a high end build with the saddle slammed fore or aft on the rails.

    After a professional fit and prior to frame purchase i have an inline post with the saddle centered on the clamping zone. I quite like the aesthetic, but am aware some don't.

  • yes but you cock up the tried and tested handling / weight distribution of a carefully developed design. Lots of people assume that they need a custom geo when contact points and post selection can generate a great fit. How many fruity looking steep seatubes relative to the headtube angle pop up on here when the bike cad technician indulges the buyers itch for custom. It can be really vital if you have an odd body shape but for the masses its money pissed up the wall.

    also to caveat i believe it is more called for in traditional horizontal top tube frames as there is less flex for the fit.

  • the last part of the Cielo puzzle was a braze-on adaptor. The Shimano band-on front mech is a 28.6-31.8 which unnerved me a bit so I went for an aftermarket adaptor at a true 28.6

    Paranoia?

  • With the adapter, torqued properly the adapters work fine. But it is nice.

    I wonder why they don't have a brazed on one. With the rest of the workmanship you'd have thought they would have.
