My point is, only people in Scotland get a vote so our vote or opinion on the vote is meaningless and won't represent what the people of Scotland want, ie. it seems a bit pointless. I've only just got interested in the idea of it all thanks to this thread. How will I know where to move to? :)

With regards to the military/navy question I would think that the UK would continue to protect Scotland- otherwise the Spanish will take every single fish out of the sea whilst the Scotts jump up and down on the beach waving their fists.

whisky and tourism - is that enough?
and oil. whatever is left (which is becoming increasingly difficult/costly to extract)

Do the SNP have a plan for currency yet? Last I heard Mr Carney at the Band of England wasn't too keen on sharing Sterling.

You are suggesting that they should nuke Spain?
That would be tricky, to be honest- the nukes belong to the Americans, the UK leases them.
I believe that Faslane is going to be shut if independence is a go- so they'd probably deploy Trident to Hull.

Whoops. I wasn't suggesting a nuclear war.
I think there is some debate over keeping all of the subs anyway. Although testing one on Hull isn't a bad idea.

There are precedents for this (well, not nuking Hull, although it looks like it), for example Malta borrows Italian capabilities in terms of navy, airforce etc etc.
Makes more sense than Scotland being left totally defenceless - Somalian Pirates taking over the UK's oil supply would be somewhat embarrassing for example.

• #67
^As opposed to the pirates currently taxing it?

• #68
I don't think they feel any embarrassment.

Closer to the truth.
But I suppose empathy with those you govern is difficult from the end of a mile of private drive.

If you ate Cameron you'd be barred from the Weight Loss forum permanently.
Maybe.
