  • Apologies for the above trolling but fucks sake. The ref in 2014 saw an interest in politics in Scotland and a conversation about what Scotland could be and should be. The cunts in the SNP then proceeded to grift and bullshit in a similar fashion to Labour (Scotland). The ghost of Pat Lally lingers. A tragedy.

  • This full things just shown that they are as much on the gravy train as the tories in WM, I said ages ago i felt now all of them are the same and it confirmed it. Weve been getting the piss took right out us with all folk with sticky fingers lining their own nests.

  • You do have to be a special kind of lunatic or c*nt to actively want to be a high ranking politician.

There are very few exceptions to that.

Should Scotland be an independent country? Yes.

Will there ever be the political competency to make that a success, before the inevitable collapse of society at large? Doubt it.

  • Will there ever be the political competency to make that a success

    That's a pretty high bar isn't it?

Until the rest of the UK has a more unified fom/fog with the EU, Scottish independence presents most of the same issues as Brexit as well as it's own ones.

Even Bismarck would struggle with this one.

  • Yeah, high bars suck. Get rid of 'em.

  • Sorry, to be clear I meant that given todays realities it's not the lack of political competency that prevents independence being successful.

As Brexit has shown, when you are the weaker party you are almost entirely at the mercy of external factors. Sure you can fuck things up more - like triggering A50 without a plan. But the fundamentals like currency, boarders, trade, people, are still there regardless.

  • Would be awrite eventually. But people won't vote for eventually. So a few lies would be inevitable, thats politics.

Anyway, in the real world, I'm happy to just get through the next 35 years or so and remain housed, fed and in the possession of bicycles. I don't really care about anything or anyone else.

  • It's all gone Stringer Bell..

  • Chief mammy never fails to deliver..

  • Thread closed for the foreseeable future. Could we have some politicians who campaign for independence without being toxic, grifting morons?

  • Indeed.

I’d have thought the promise of the snp leading us back to theEU would have had more of a pop this election but it seems not.

I’ve also not been lambasted with snp propaganda though so maybe the message just didn’t get out. Or my algorithm works well who knows.

Anyway this result puts the independence question back years.
