Negotiating atm for a bike I considered as "my most wanted" when I bought my first (mountain-)bike back in 1991: a Scott Pro Racing Max OR.

what great coincindence - this exact or maybe a little lower spec scott in columbus max OR appeared near my place - leaning on a fence with a cut through lock hanging from the handlebar. I saw it there, called the cops to have them look up if it might be stolen because of the cut lock. They didn´t seem to be the brightest candles, meant someone left it there not locking it. After some convincing they locked the bike there leaving a note to call the police station. I asked what might happen with it when no one would be after it - and they mentioned bringing it to the lost & found office with my name on it. In about a year I´d be able to tell you if I got it or if it got returned to the previous owner, which I would wish for him.

It's not a lower spec, it IS a high end Pro Racing. It even has the original Avocet racing saddle. What a waste...

The seller backed out so here it is. I think it's the max-style altec but I'm not quite sure. He wanted 80€ for it, quite a bargain...

I think that one will sit in Ebay purgatory for a while. I'd be surprised if anyones thinks its lovely enough to spend 1000 on it!
