Here is my Max bike pre crash (and respray) with Shamals, and after with Nucleons.
Seriously though Nucleons, are fantastic, light, rock solid, couldn't recommend them enough.

strange, both ^ and the Kalloy it came with are 27.2mm. The Kalloy was substantially longer, and inserted quite far down. It came out relatively easily. Both posts now slip in for about 4-5cm, then nothing. It seems as if the seattube has magically shrunk overnight.
Magnets?

Nothing you can see with a torch?

there seems to be some muck from a point down, will try and clean it now and try again.
Might have to double check with a reamer.
is there any chance that the MAX seatpost is 27.0mm ID?
-
• #142
From a quick google fu, it might well be.
I noticed a variation from 27.0mm to 27.4mm seatpost sizes on different bikes, all built with Columbus Max.
Get down your lbs and get a vernier gauge thingy on it to be sure.

I've got a digital vernier you can use apollo

Thanks both (Jack I might take you up on that), here's my simple test:
I cleaned the seattube and here's the results using the Deda 27.2 from the Plum as a control (because I know for a fact that the Plum is 27.2mm):
Spin Ti 27.2 - Only fits in Plum/Somec for about 2-3cm
Deda 27.2 - Fits in Plum & Somec
Kalloy* 27.2 - Fits in Plum & SomecConclusions:
Somec has to be 27.2mm ID, in which case the Spin Ti post is not.
Better PM the seller.
*I also cleaned it up and found the 27.2 stamp, so I'm sure about it, and the frame being 27.2
