Sorry to drift slightly but a word of warning on that stem ... I bought the exact same model NOS from Hillary Stone and that little plastic black bit hiding the bolt, well, it is extremely flimsy and held in place simply by a screw. Tighten that screw too much and the plastic will snap, have it too loose and it rattles. All pictures I've seen of that stem eventually dont include that little plastic bit. Disappointing design fault on an otherwise lovely stem. Be careful with it.

A quill stem rather dictates a lot of what goes on the bike- you can't just bang Di2 on it with some deep carbon wheels and call it good.

Sonic Blue to Arctic White fades would probably look good (close to above), but I don't like the yellow decals.

Obviously you should go Ohh-Range to ‘Treuse.

Dammit - is that a local shop where all those paint jobs are happening in your photo bucket - I've got a frame I want a custom job on and their work looks great.

could you not just return it to Serotta for a refurb, as they are still going?

Most likely around a 1000 usd for a single color repaint by serotta.
Edit: their prices have gone down for refinishing it seems a single color is 522 http://saratogaframeworks.com/2013/08/29/repair-refinish/

I got a quote from them- $1,500 including postage but not including duty.
