  • Good to hear that this is going ahead. Definitely a good paint job. But I think some sweet Serotta style fades would be awesome.

  • I think that this is a 1998 frame in "Patriot":

    What colour//s to paint it?

The red looks cool but I think the original blue is better (although they should have gone with blue not white forks). Also having a US frame by one of the top US frame builders seems fitting IMO.

    Otherwise yellow-to-pink-to-black fade.

  • What is the classic paint- red to yellow fade?

  • I like the day-glo nodder look. Very racy

But they did a nice blue - light blue fade.

    Dear lord!

  • ^^ yesssssssssssssssssssssss

  • Oh i like the spotter suggestion. Just do it!
Glad to hear its gonna work out!

  • The red to orange is certainly quite dramatic.

  • They are making frames, good discounts on all of their current range as they attempt to keep their workers busy after having killed their customer pipeline.

They are re-structuring to produce more high-end off-the-peg bikes, generally under other people's names. So basically they're aiming for things like the CVNDSH market. Problem with that... such brands come about because one of the big brands pays a rider a hell of a lot of money to use their name. Not sure how this will work for Serotta.

Anyhow, if you are an original owner with a lifetime warranty then you need to renew your warranty by end of December, the form is on their website.

sounds like a similar position to Colossi. They make frames for loads of companies, rarely under their own name.

  • I've been exchanging emails with Serotta with regards to decals btw, and all their communication is from this domain: http://saratogaframeworks.com/

It looks to me like they're going to use Saratoga Frameworks as the primary brand, and Serotta will be simply one brand of frames that they produce.

  • hang on - wait... You've started another project?

Does your flat have walls and stuff yet?

  • Walls are all there, they need painting mind you.

I've got to the "painting door-frames" stage with some of the rooms now.

    But not others.

  • While you're getting the Serotta looked at, how about getting some fixie dropouts brazed in?

  • Nope, this will be a road bike.

  • Also, I think the current dropouts are titanium. They're certainly a stainless metal of some kind.

your girlfriend must love you deeply ;-)

Stainless steel perhaps? Would be surprised if they were ti...

  • They used Ti drop-outs/ fork ends with carbon rear-ends/ forks. But I cant see them doing that with steel.

    Stainless steel I reckon.

He gets forumengers to do his DIY for him these days. All he really needed to say was "there might be a cat there" for a load of gullible, cat-starved chumps to turn up and do it for free. He's a genius, really. If only he applied this formidable intellect to his frame-buying, eh?

  • I want a steel track bike with those red / orange fades.
