I have been thinking a lot about tubeless recently. Apparently Vittoria are going to release tubeless road tyres soon (they may have already done so, I'm not that up on this shit)
Me too. I'm going to buy the tubeless Ultremo's when I get some money. I planned on using them for winter for the puncture protection but this whole unemployed thing has got in the way.

This has had me trawling the internet all afternoon looking for a Serotta in my size...
Talbot's work look really impressive. Especially given the news of the broken lug.

Similar thoughts .. After using Stans on the Yeti for a while I thought I'd try on the road bike now manufacturers are starting to make a choice of tyres available.
Fitted Ultremo's this weekend to Stans 340 rims .. went onto the rims without lever assistance and then bead locked with the track pump. Only one ride so far on Saturday afternoon but they seem ok .. the weight is only a little more then my usual latex inner and Veloflex Corsa combination and I say they are a bit less comfortable at the same pressure (could be the side wall construction) but hopefully should be a bit more p**cture proof for the coming months .. and stop me being sat on the side of the road ?!
CSB .. thread hijack?

Tubs make more sense to me on the road. Flats are rare, theres no traction bonus going tubeless, youre stil relying on the bead lock, and the weight is higher.
Might be more interested on a disk braked cx/commuter.
Offroad its awesome. Less flats, less weight, less PSI. All win.

@ Smallfurry .. I guess it depends were you ride. I ride in a rural area and there's a lot of flint gets washed onto the roads from the fields at this time of year so flats are more common for me for the next few months at least.
It's all a bit of an experiment at the moment for me to see if they make a difference at a small trade off .. come better weather I'll be back on Veloflex

Totally.
Just to get back on topic. I think some nemesis tubulars could look awesome on this.
Any thoughts on colour? A nice purple came up when I was googling penguin books.

Sorry for the further hijack.
But I ran Ultremos and veloflex, both with latex innners, on two bikes at the same time, for a few years.
The Ultremos roll as well as the veloflex, grip as well as the veloflex, yet last a bit longer. The offset is definitly a tiny drop in ride smoothness. The carcass construstruction is very different.

You rode two bikes at once?

Top of the seat tube needs cutting down to match the profile of the lug, then off to paint.

Parts list looks awesome, but why Nitto Noodles?
-
• #346
I will admit to not having thought about the bars that much, I just saw a pair of noodles and quite liked the shape- I've never used them before.
They appear* to have a similar transition to my Pro Vibe 7's, but that could be wrong.
*Based on having seen a picture of them on the Internet.

I spent the £50 that I saved on
coke and hookersthe handlebars. Now all I need is some handlebar tape and some pedals.

You could've asked, as I got the rando, noodle and classic bar at your disposal, but I assumed you need 44cm?
