Hmm I’ve never been able to get the 2 bolts tightened together technique to work before. I’m going to have to see if I can get access to box aren’t I.
I might have some spare bosses somewhere too so I might have to cut the boss without damaging the brake, but that sounds like a pain in the arse too.

What's the width on the flats of the boss?
I'd have a go at making a flat spanner/tool, might not be up to the task if the space is super thin -

Amazingly I had some bolts that fitted the boss and even more amazingly I managed to got it to work.
Thanks for the help! Very much appreciated

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a replacement high limit screw for a rounded Shimano R8050 Di2 front derailleur?
-
• #157
It (almost certainly) will be possible.
SJS are my goto for things like this, you need to know what to look for though, seems Shimano call them 'Stroke Adjusting Bolts'.
They don't seem to have the ones for your particular derailleur in stock but plenty other DA ones that might fit, give them a call or email and they'll see you right.

I might have a broken front mech at work I can take one out of, can check on Monday.

If it'll fit the R8050 then I'll take it. I'll also drop sjs a line just in case

• #160
Pretty sure there's a broken R8050 somewhere
-
• #161
Cool, if it's broken beyond repair happy to take the whole thing just to play around and have a look around the innards.

Thomson stem bolts.
Does anyone have any idea where you can buy them, ideally from a fasteners merchant rather than a bike shop, annoyingly they’re rather specific.

What's the best way to attach a 22.2mm clamp-on Shimano MTB shifter to 23.8mm-diameter Nitto riser bars?
Is there some sort of an adapter available (found a Problem Solvers I-Spec to clamp mount adapter but it's not around anymore), or will I have to pry it open/butcher and ream it?

Try these guys. They have a little shop local to me and have a vast supply but do online too. They’re great bought loads from them, including stem bolts.

Negative shim?

I've already tried a bifurcated rectilinear flange circumcisor but it gave my palms dewy bumfluff...

A small price to pay.

Cheers, I’ll give them a look.

I've just got one of these Italian threaded square taper BB's to fit my Campag crank.
https://www.tokenproducts.com/bottom-brackets/threaded/iso-square-taper-185
What tool is that I need to tighten/loosen this and how readily available are they? It's a bigger diameter than the Campag cassette/bb tool I had, so that doesn't work.
Can I buy such a tool from a London bike shop tomorrow? Or failing that does someone London based have one I can borrow tomorrow? I'm south London based but happy to cycle to come and get, and then return it as soon as I've used it.
Cheers.

Looks like a standard Shimano-pattern splined BB tool fitting.
Most bike shops should stock a suitable tool.

Yup.

Great thanks, that's good news.
Shimano tool for a Italian threaded Campag fit BB, heresy!

Thinking of upgrading to Shimano 105 R7020 hydraulic disc in my 2016 Equilibrium Disc fitted with Shimano 5800 groupset and cable disc. I have checked the compatibility charts and measured the current brake cable lengths (to choose a hose length). Shall I go for the closest (slightly over) hose lenght? Anything else I need to be aware of? Any extra parts, tools, bleeding kits I might need? https://www.merlincycles.com/shimano-105-r7020-hydraulic-disc-sti-levers-r7070-flat-mount-disc-calipers-11-speed-119868.html?utm_source=PHG&utm_medium=AffiliateMarketing&utm_campaign=phg-GB&ucpo=91929&source=PHG

2014 Record 11 front derailleur - starting to get stripped hi/low limit screws. Anyone know if they are M3 in size?

Just to follow up on my hunt for limit screw for the R8050 Di2 FD, does anyone know any other screws that would be compatible? Surely the screw is a standard-ish size that could be replaced with something similar like: https://www.homedepot.com/p/M4-0-7-x-8-mm-Alloy-Socket-Set-Screws-2-Pack-813788/204274295
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/gear-spares-shimano-front-derailleurs/?thread=m4+x+8 Is there any reason to expect any of these Shimano M4x8 bolts wouldn't work to replace the FD limit screw bolt? It baffled the mind...
I need to replace a Shimano m675 brake lever but can’t seem to get one (I need it ASAP)
Can I use an M7100 lever? Is the hose connection going to be a straight swap?
