good to see that a lot of your students cycle!

Ha, they don't start till tomorrow.
Two other members of staff cycled. The school I worked at in Hounslow was nodder central. One came into the changing room and announced he'd been hit by a car on the way to school. Lay on the floor for a bit, then got up and carried on and taught a full day. Like a boss.

With huge thanks to Regal, I have found the font which had previously been used for decals on the frame before it was stripped.
Hopefully taking the bike to get the seat tube reamed and the BB threads re-cut tomorrow, and so I am thinking ahead about decal design.
Considering going for dark red, which should look nice and subtle against the orange. That or some kind of golden yellow, for the same effect but a bit of a lighter shade.

Just realised I can take my ICT skills up another notch and try out potential colour schemes using my new-found familiarity with Powerpoint.
Voila:

Torn between the two, I might go for one colour on each side, inspired by ncjlee's incredible Argos.

Looks good Tom. Two tone decals would look good I reckon..

Personally I'm not a fan of the red on orange.
-
• #136
It's a bit clashy I think. Having a red which was just a tiny bit darker than the orange would be nice but it's so hard to find the right shades when you're buying vinyl off EBay without seeing it first.

Tom pls, your colour matching skills are quite horrendous. I think a black outline would look good.

or white

I vote purple.

ugh

has to be blue.
-
• #142
no man, not blue. that would look cheap0..
my vote would be black or if you can find it some translucent vinyl or something, like the stuff they put on windows to make m not-seethroughable..
that would be stealthy i reckon.. -

Balls to that, I'm just a visionary. You said grey/pink/white/yellow dots wouldn't work and it's a piece of art.
Look at the alternative suggestions, just black or white.

Also, look at a Sainsbury's Bag For Life. Perfect melding of orange and dark red. Might leave the squirrel though.

Just picked up a very nice Halo-Velocity A23 wheelset to go with this. The Ellipses will see track duty, or maybe just be sold.
I dropped the bike off with Fitzrovia Cycles this afternoon to have the seat tube reamed and the BB thread re-cut, soon enough it will be finished and I can stop tinkering.
Toying with the idea of bullhorns, or maybe just some slightly narrower drops, as these sleek womanly shoulders don't get on with 44cm.
-
• #146
I changed to 42cm onScherrits advice and the world failed to end.
I think white letters.
-
• #147
Grey sounds nice
-
• #148
White just sounds a bit unimaginative. Grey on orange, I'm not sure. I have ordered a couple of different shades of red and a golden yellow, we'll see how that goes.
I have 42cm bars on all my other bikes, but the Spatr bars I got off Spatr make it feel a bit like I'm steering a boat.

did i just see this in fitzrovia cycles?

Um..
I dropped the bike off with Fitzrovia Cycles this afternoon ..
How much was it? He's based out East now isn't he, could be good for me.
I got desperate this morning after breaking my Brompton chain, and just banged in the 27.0mm post and rode to work. Rides nicely, as well as any bike will with a 20kg rucksack on.
