  • Just looked back through this thread.

The bike looked awesome when it was raw. I like the orange, but I'm still not convinced it's the colour I'd go for if I was to get it done again. Should have backed myself to get pink, yellow, or the same grey as my road bike.

Anyhow, in the meantime I have ordered some orange vinyl, and decided to go orange-on-orange decals for the stealthiest look possible with an orange bike.

And I have fitted my 853 sticker, which means the bike is now officially 853. I hope that clears up any doubt.

Also I have some nice Deda Piega bars which feel really comfortable, just need to get round to fitting them and the bike is close to done. At which point I might put it in storage for the winter and get my Pompetamine out again...

  • As it is, being used for commuting. Every little tweak seems to make it a little better to ride, I'm really enjoying it now. Hoping that continues to be the case now it has 25mm tyres and when I finally fit the new bars.

  • looks awesome...remove mudguard and take a proper pic please :)

  • Yeah looks great, you finally getting round to enjoying it?

  • Yeah I am, but having no time for anything other than commuting on it. And still having thoughts of either selling it, or more likely just taking it home for the winter and using the Pomp more.

  • I miss this little chap. I'm going to bring it back to London at Easter, and the following gifts will be bestowed upon it:

-Black Deda Murex stem with open faceplate
    -Syntace Stratos bullhorns and
-Deda Piega compact bars (the Spatr bars are too wide)
    -Powdercoated On-One external BB chainset

And maybe, although it would be purely aesthetic so probably won't happen for a while, some Paselas. I think they look boss on black wheels (cf. negatioo)

And maybe the decals at last.

  • Goodies for the Donohue tomorrow:

  • Well nice. We definitely need to organise a forum Donohue ride at some point.

  • If all goes to plan this week I should have a choice of three to ride on...oops.

  • nailed it!

  • Perhaps not, this potential new addition is too big. The search goes on...

  • Donohue ride sounds great though!

  • There's at least 5 of us I think. Could broaden it further if we allowed dyslexics on Donhue's to come along.

  • Nice work! :)

  • Perhaps not, this potential new addition is too big. The search goes on...

Was this the one you were talking about that you saw the listing for on the TT forum?

I have a donohue road - 853 millennium tubing same as yours and TMs - would love the track version.

    What measurements are we speaking?

  • Yeah I'm going to pick it up this week I think, if it is too big it is already spoken for I'm afraid!

I think it's 61cm ctt when ideally I'd want 59cm. It would fit without being a ball destroyer but it looks a bit gate-like.

  • I forgot how I felt about this bike before I saw it again, and when I finished fettling I realised that it's fucking mint.

One daft setup, and one sensible one. Daft first:

  • And to think, I'm not even a professional photographer*

  • dang - well do let me know if it doesn't fit whoever else is in line!

  • The sensible iteration.

I wish the colour looked this good in real life:

You can see from the Scoblebricks that it's actually a pretty comfortable setup considering its faux-pro top tube.

  • ^best iteration so far, looks great.

    gate-like.

    You rang?

dang - well do let me know if it doesn't fit whoever else is in line!

    There's already a fair queue I think

  • bugger, oh well my search for a track frame continues!

  • ^best iteration so far, looks great.

Thanks. It's all down to the Frog.
