I might actually give this service a go. Been thinking of spraying my GT frame for a while now. Sent you an email. That purple'ish thing you have from 2 years ago just looks amazing.
Cheers

We've got our signature colour going on quite a few blogs and in print but I wanted to share the info with you guys first.
I'd like to introduce No Quarter Purple.
We spent 3 months changing and perfecting the formula by hand to create the perfect colour. We changed primers, base coat and lacquer + tinting to get the combination right. It's a complex colour due to each coat of paint and even the lacquer being a different colour than what was sprayed on before. This colour looks truly amazing in natural light.
It's taken 100 different test sheets and spray charts to create this colour, we've painted it on tubes, flat surfaces, just about anything to see how it reacts. We use a very expensive Japanese pearl additive to the paint which is unbeatable, even if you stand it next to a metallic or mega glossy frame this will outshine them.
Only 1 person in the world knows how to mix it and only 1 person in the world knows how to paint it.
We teamed up with Tim Leicester from Sword Cycles to paint his Bespoke Bristol frame, his stunning fillet brazing creates a great surface for this paint.
No Quarter Purple...
We've got some really big plans for this colour as it'll be offered to pro teams, frame-builders and it'll be OEM to a select few top end bicycle manufacturers, associated with top quality equipment and it'll be recognised instantly.

Something else we're unto..
This logo was painted by hand. No stencils, tracing or decals.
We've got some seriously cool stuff in at the moment for some custom work. Expect fades, pin striping, fluorescents and gold-leaf.

Looks great James well done, it's been awesome to see your company progress over the past two years on this thread.

Thanks for your kind words ladies and gents, it's been a huge amount of work but we're getting somewhere!
We've got some really exciting projects in the pipeline and as ever they'll be up here first.

I saw the Sword in purple at Bespoked and it really is a stunning paint finish.

This logo was painted by hand.
Out of interest, why is this better? I don't mean for a second to take away anything from the artistry or skill required, which is beyond my comprehension, but surely you would get more consistently "perfect" results by "cheating" (as it were?)

@5awyr many thanks! Did you get any pictures?
@giles337 it's very hard to describe but knowing something has been done by hand just makes things a whole lot more special and personal. I absolutely love the custom car world as I spent most of my childhood around my Father painting racing cars and hot rods or at Santa Pod watching them race. I'm trying to introduce more of the custom world to the cycling scene as fades and complex masking can get a little boring. We're working with some of the most skilled sign writers in the world at..... I'm going to stop before I say too much. Watch this space.

Amazing colour. Love it.
Are you offering it to the general public as well?

weirdly, nail art could be a good place for inspiration too.
I'd personally love a hologram glitter over the top of a blue to purple fade nebula frame... -

Didn't actually take a single picture the whole day.

Loving the work, quality of your finish (saw one at Bespoke) is amaze. But this frame stands out to me, did you not remove the cable stops before painting or are they painted separate and then refitted? Otherwise the first time a mechanic comes to cable this frame the paint will surely crack, or at least look pants?

@BrickMan many thanks for the kind comments, appreciated.
We followed the client's orders so I'm guessing the frame already had internal outer cabling so all the mechanic had to do is feed the inner cable through. I've seen pictures of the frame built up and it looks superb and the cable stop screws have not been touched.

Great reporting! Did they just hit ctrl+c?

Something old and steel in for paint. This frame was under very thick paint so it's nice to see the raw steel again.

Finished!
Check out the black 'Starley' detailing on the down-tube. Black decals on a black frame then buried under lacquer. You can see it but only in certain light.

Here's what we're working on at the moment..
Marc's stunning vintage steel frame sporting No Quarter Purple and some pin-striping. All by hand!
Paint currently looks flat and inconsistent as we sand it down before painting on the details. We've added some more metal flakes to the paint, it's going to be reaaallly rich once lacquered!
We've got to add brand decals and tubing decals before we can lacquer.
Is the NQ purple the same stuff you had on that epic frame you were selling ages ago that you were going to strip the paint from?
