I seem to remember hearing that DI2 had shifter buttons for both hand positions, which I'd think could be advantageous on a course like this. Clearly BW doesn't agree.

I've been struggling with the corner speed thing- wondering whether I'm just thinking he looks slow in the corners, or if it's actually true

Could also be that the motobikes have a wider-angle lens on, as they are able to get right behind the rider, so they don't need a zoom. This would show more of the background, which might make it look slower

I think BW used mechanical groupsets on his '12 tt bikes because the shifters added a couple of cm's to the front of the bike over the Di2 button shifters. It allowed him to sit further forward on the saddle, and kept the bike within the UCI guidelines. ...but the rules might have been changed for 2013?
