  • I doubt Sky want the pink jersey yet, as defending for two weeks is an enormous task. Best to let someone else have it whilst you bide your time until the final week.

Conversely, Wiggins needs to get a decent amount of time back on his rivals today, so the pink jersey might come as a consequence of that.

He must show his mettle today for his and the teams confidence... then bide time

  • Anyone found a time schedule for today?

    PDF here

  • ^ nice one

  • Lots of crashes, wish I could watch this live.

It's only £4.99 a month for a 'crowd pass' to watch it on the Eurosport Player?

That's what I do: Sign up in time for the classics, keep it till the end of the Tour. £20.

  • Interesting to see them going off a minute apart at the moment. Is this normal? I always thought it was two, switching to three for the leaders.

Be interesting to see how many Wiggins catches.

  • PS - nice work Brun.

  • who's in charge of race number application at team Sky? no bonus this year.

  • doesn't seem to bother Wiggo though, overtaking Di Luca within 10 minutes; riding 10% faster. if he keeps that up he'll have passed 7 or 8 riders before the TT's finish

  • oh no wiggo...

  • Another mechanical? Surely that can't of been planned as they're speculating on Eurosport?

  • poor £10k bike, being thrown on its derailleur

  • i think he just likes chucking 9 grand pinarellos around like a boss.

one of these kids that always dumped his bike on the drive behind the car much to the chagrin of his poor mum.

  • He looks a little more comfortable on the new bike

  • Is Shimano 9000 a load of shit?

  • He needs to stop having these mechanical issues. How long do we reckon he lost, maybe 10 seconds? At least he didn't seem to waste much time in the change I suppose.

  • i might try and follow wiggo round during stage races might be lucky to pick up a discarded bottle or a dogma depending how his day is going

  • 'if it was pan-flat" X16

Just 'flat' would do and enough to remind us 8 times how Bradley would prefer this, not 16 times

  • just seen a close up of the rear deraileur - BW is now on mechanical TT bike instead of the electronically geared one

  • I thought he'd ditched Di2 for the TT's anyway after previous mechanicals?

Seems to be a soft rear tyre.

  • I wonder at what point the difference between mechanical and electronic become a mental issue. If he thinks there is something wrong with his Di2, is he more likely to junk it, even if its only in his head?

  • I thought he'd ditched Di2 for the TT's anyway after previous mechanicals?

Seems to be a soft rear tyre.

rode a pretty fast corner on a soft tyre in that case

I am fairly positive I saw the bulge on the rear derailleur on the bike he chucked

We'll hear it after the race probably

BW's corner speeds are not quite his usual atm

  • ah, he fell just before the bike change, race radio confirms :-(

that may have broken his bike and will have influenced his confidence in corners...

  • I've been struggling with the corner speed thing- wondering whether I'm just thinking he looks slow in the corners, or if it's actually true

  • I was just thinking the same thing and wondering if I was imagining it.

@peter could well be the case, just what I thought I'd heard (I thought someone said in this thread). Cameras missed the fall then?
