So today's stage is mostly flat apart from one small climb twenty minutes before the end, do I have that right?
-
• #1553
Yes. Expert opinion suggests that final hill is too tough for Cavendish, which means he'll probably win.

Might just watch sneaky watch RAI live in work then with R5 extra on for the audio. My cyclingtorrents ratio has taken a hammering in the last week or so.

A reminder that Australian sprinter Matt Harley Goss abandoned the race yesterday - which is why Orica-GreenEdge don't fancy their chances in a bunch sprint. Although, to be fair, Goss has not exactly been a factor in the fast finishes of this year's race so far.

Go Cav go!
I must say he has impressed me this Giro. There were whispers he was slowing down, there's a host of young pretenders and a few old stagers looking to usurp him and here he's proved yet again he is the absolute class of the field. More than that he proves yet again he can win without a train and get over some lumpy stuff.
His stage 13 win, if you look at the totality of it, might be his best of his career. Longest stage of the Giro and after 250k some serious lumps thrown it. His team burnt themselves out chasing the break and left him isolated on the climbs at the end. Sheer force of will got him over them, as far as I can work out, and he was able to hunt down some late breaks and still smash the lot of them at the end. Massive chapeau to Cav, hope he somehow manages to hold onto red. The fact Cadel is in the hunt for pink may play in his favour, as Astana aren't going to let Cadel get the top spots on a stage and time bonuses they bring.

I'm crushed by this.
It's like the time I sat through 3hrs of Magnolia and the DVD was fucked so I never saw the last ten minutes, and i'venever summoned the interest since.

Cav going for intermediates - must really want the red jersey. Probably one of the few people hoping desperately for the mountain stages to be cancelled...

Visconti is taking the piss!
-
• #1570
come on. team time trial to get a minute back. That will be hard
-
• #1571
A minute in 18 kms? He'll only get back on if the others sit up, and there are enough riders up front with a chance of glory to make that extremely unlikely.
-
• #1572
10 km, gap is 1'40". The experts were right.

• #1573
