I might well be interested in some bike spaces - but probably only 3 - would that work? we would then squeeze into my car (if I can find someone to drive it up to Dunwich...).
Potential dibs but I will PM to confirm.
Thank you!
HELLO
Having missed the official coach tickets I've arranged a minibus to bring me and 15 mates back to London. To take the bikes, we've got a small removals van.
The capacity of removals van for bikes is about twice the capacity of minibus in humans so for anyone interested in doing something similar there are potentially 20+ bike spaces in the removals truck (ie a whole minibus full of cyclists) and the chance to split the cost.
Anyone interested?
(The 16 person minibus cost 250£ btw)

Breaking my DD cherry after many many many years of having to work in motorsport on the same weekend - looking forward to seeing a few of your dope fixed and SS rides on the way, I'll be pussying out on that front and taking my geared Cinelli.
Getting excited, say hello if you see a fat lad in the milltag DD top puffin' along on an alu italian number......

I'm going to be using glass Orangina bottles filled with Pastis.
Hmm, I was wondering about taking a pastis bottle filled with pastis, but my avatar reveals a technical problem.

@PeterCarter
I think going your own way for some of it, somewhere, is understandable. In fact, I think I may have done this exact deviation last year, not even knowing or caring whether it was on the 'route'. I like the route's help, but not to the point that I feel like it's cheating to go another way. It's called 'Peasenhall', btw.

But that's not as funny as Peasenham...

I'll be heading back to Norwich after the beach. Anyone's free to join me. This is the route I'll be taking, it finishes at my partner's flat, but it's about 1km from the train station.

This route is pretty close to this year's, right? I've popped it on my Garmin - but if there's a better one to take I'd like to swap.

Is the route clearly signposted?

No. But there'll be plenty of people to follow. But they may be lost. But it'll probably be fine.

I think route sheet and candles in jars makes it quite easy. I'll stick it in my Garmin anyway though.

How likely is it that's pulled up alone if you're not riding with any one?
Better to leave later if your alone and riding to time? -
• #566
How fast are you planning to ride? I was doing about 19 mph for the flat sections in suffolk and was hammering it past a lot of people, but then having to wait for my riding buddies. This year I'm planning to just power through.
It's quite a slow ride for the most part it seems, though I was right at the back last year after stopping to help lots of people with mechanicals. -
• #567
25kmph
-
• #568
Oh yeah! What's your worry, not sure I understand what you mean.
15/16 mph should be fine, I think that'll be the average for most decent cyclists. It's only the club guys hammering it that'll be over that, I reckon.
-
• #569
The worry is getting lost while kicking away. Ideally I'll have music in and just roll through
-
• #570
Ah, I think you'll be ok. As I say, I got left behind last year (called police/ambo for a chap in Epping who crashed, then helped numerous other riders with mechanicals) but I'm sure if you're keeping a solid pace you'll find a decent group.
I'm planning to ride harder this year, but I'm going to find it hard to not stop and help people.

Not sure if I'm going to do this as I dont have a bus ticket, we shall see though.

Hurrah! Has yours arrived now? -

Not really after a group.
So there's a good chance if you run off alone you'll spend segments alone, so will need to know where you're going... -
