You never know, you might hit a pothole while shaving.
Greetings Oliver,
I haven't shaved since 1992...
I hope all is well...
Give thanks,

On a DD long long ago I came out of the food stop in Great Waldingfield and decided to follow a chap who was merrily riding up the road to Lavenham. It was clearly not the "correct" route but it turned out to be anothersam, and we had a good long chat as we rolled through a silent Lavenham and a sleeping Brent Eleigh before rejoining the main flow of the ride later on.
And two years ago I veered off route on the approach to Framlingham and, to be honest, it was almost a disappointment to spy some fresh tyre marks on the road that revealed that I was not the only person taking that diversion and avoiding the crowds.

Brent Eleigh ^^^^^^^ is known historically for it's 'sleeoing'.

2 years ago i got lost after 100 miles. I was very grateful that someone else a little less clueless than me took that turn. We rode together for a few miles, what seemed like a few hours, and chatted. I was in a sleepless haze and all possible it was someone on the forum but i cannot remember much other than the passing road.

I think I was kind of aware of that ... not the precise year, but ... :)

Might be worth making (dare I say it?) a list of people waiting for tickets, as I know there are a few. Means people with spares can work their way down it and people at work don't miss out.

Pah! Going brakeless, no lights. If other people can't deal with it then fuck 'em.
Right?
.
You joke but I followed someone doing exactly this last year. Maybe his lights ran out accidentally but still......quite mad.

^You could see him though.
I just ordered my new lights today. Put my mudguards and rack on last night!

Greetings and love to each and every one....,
Not really a buy the t-shirt type of chap, but when I saw the Milltag thing about DD shirts and profits going to er charidee mate
I thought mmnn why not. That'll do Nicey-ly.
Got the e-mail today to say something along the lines of 'they have landed and are being posted out today and we should have them by the end of the week'.
So looking forward to this landing on the mat.I thought it would be handy if I get lost towards the end, I need directions and am so tired I cannot really speak any more. I can just point to the Dunwich on the front with a pitiful look on my face and hope for the best.
Also started getting my bag ready last night and working out what I still need to buy / sort. Just going to tick a couple of things off each day, so there is no need to panic, or the nearest I get to panicking anyway...
Hope all is well with you all. See you in the peleton.
Allez Team LFGSS
Peace and Love,
Tim -

I'm hoping to do this.....it's another bucket list tick in the box.
I'm on duty till 6pm on the day though, so it's touch and go.......if I'm mad busy at work, I may have to chimp out....... -

Evening all, My ride buddy has just announced that he won't be riding with me. Pah.
I live in Braintree(not too far off the route near Dunmow) and will be riding in to London then doing the ride to Dunwich then back to Braintree.
Anyone else on here making their way in from Essexland and would like an extra team member? I have done the ride alone before and would really appreciate a bit of company on those lonely lanes. -

Oh but some people set off as late as 9.30pm. It's the ultimate afterworker. Pub pit-stops, beach at the end, free Chainbreaker hugs... -

So will you be wearing your new maillot on the day or keeping it as a fresh change of clothes for once you have done the ride.
Also, what bidons will you be using?
-
• #549
Not done this for a number of year, however, I ve always found the last bit, which is a detour around Yoxford to bring you onto the A12 opposite the lane down to Westleton, all a bit
unnecessary
At that point my legs say "sod it" , so I take the straight road from Peasenham to Yoxford. Is there food there now? From Yoxford you can easily find your way to Westleton and then turn right for Dunwich.

It's proper fluoro yellow so I'll wear it I reckon.
I'm going to be using glass Orangina bottles filled with Pastis.
Is this due to some animosity from resident or residents of Sible Hedingham, do you think?
