  • Just did 2 laps of the loop part of this lollipop shaped route. Avg 16 mph. Beautiful lanes. Beautiful day. Still massively unfit

  • You and me both. See you next Tuesday Tim, we'll be honoured to roll with a proper elder.

  • Really looking forward to meeting up and rolling with you and the rest of the faces.

  • :)

So what pub ~~just ~~ does this ride finish with?

  • :)

So what pub just this ride finish with?

The one behind the railway barrier.

  • Proper tnrc weather forecast for tomorrow - looking forward to this. Great to see Clintsmoker on the list, now we just need a Jonny. 15 is probably borderline for train splitting - will see how the additions/bedwetting goes and decide tomorrow. Better to ride this route as one group anyway rather than trying to sort a meet point so it makes little odds.

  • would definitely be up for this, if only i wasn't injured :-(

  • When there's a big group like this is the tendency to split into a slow and fast group?

  • Yes! Everyone else: fast - me: slow

  • No, we all stay together.

Except on this route where we stay together until the end of the loop then it's everyone for themselves back to the station (don't follow Ludwig).

  • Or, feel free to follow Ludwig if you want to be ridiculed for this for ever.

Just ask Bruce. He was a numpty last year and ended up on a nice scenic tour of god knows where in the middle of the night. Oh, and he had a garmin.

  • Is anyone riding out?

  • ^^DJ had the Garmin but yes ;)

  • I would be up for riding out, could meet chingford mcdonalds by the traffic lights, or even in millfields park hackney?

  • Was DJ the other fool? I had forgotton that.

  • From the moment we realised we were adrift, James provided uninterrupted and frequently hilarious "I can't believe we followed Ludwig" commentary without actually losing either his temper or his sense of humour. Was quite impressive.

By the way, did you notice any of the road closure issues that Rod Munch ran into?

  • Failing that, did you see a rabbit posing on a fencepost in a way that suggested the handlebars of an old Raleigh Chopper?

  • so is roydon railway station at 7;45 the aim for people cycling out?

  • so is roydon railway station at 7;45 the aim for people cycling out?

Aim for a 7:45 meet, although we might not get going till 8 if we need two trains. If you are riding out and want my number in case of running late drop me a pm.

  • Hopefully in tomorrow. First night ride of the year :s

    Liverpool St 19.11 (& 19.28 if needed)
    Return trains: 22.13/30, 23.13. GS4 £6.30.
Rolling 37 miles - nice route if you are looking to try a first TNRC. We'll ride as a group until the sprint option for the last few miles. No one gets left behind etc. Bike friendly pub at the end.

  • I am torn between riding out and probably having to try and chase on, or catching the train. I wouldn't be leaving Hackney until 7.00pm. Ludwig - were you thinking of setting off that late? Quickest route out is along the canal.

  • Hey TNRC'ers!

Looking for a ride for Thursday night given the beautiful weather that's predicted. I'm assuming the St Mary's Cray ride/Kent No.1 ride is more about nice lanes than the less nice thundering A Roads of St Mary's Cray itself? I'm sure it's a nice route, being on the TNRC roster but good to check these things I find.

Best choice. Jonny said this route takes you out and home to South London in the best way.
