Yes, that is why I decided against descending Bower about this time as well but should be fine now. Take care descending Botsom Lane so. That road had an astroturf relay over the winter.

And Sam, a bit of manure in spring has not hurt anybody's 10 miles PB later in the year.

Do we meet in a specific place to sort out the group savers?

Best choice. Jonny said this route takes you out and home to South London in the best way.
Living South (near to Jonny I think) I reckoned this was one of the best routes I could feasibly cycle out from work and get round in decent light even if I take train back from St Mary's Cray.
Ta! also for spots to watch, much appreciated.

Nice one! But the old "I can't be a bedwetter if I didn't put my name on the list" trick no longer washes. We know who you are and your names are down by default, ride or wet the bed, there is no longer another option.

Behind the information desk near the ticket office. Wear a red carnation and carry a copy of yesterday's Times, the pass phrase is "the badgers are lively tonight".

Is there a maximum number of riders for this ride? Looking busy.

Looks like a two train job unless there is a major bout of bedwetting today - will split the list on the next post. Makes little odds as we'll roll off together from Roydon at 8. Meet by the main ticket office Liv St, leave enough time to sort out GS action. Trains are normally pretty crowded around this time so be nice to the commuters; don't board en masse, spread out in the carriages - you know the kind of thing.
We'll ride most of the route as a group, stop for punctures etc. There's a few tricky turns here and there, so lets keep it steady and together until we get to the sprint for home split. If you are in the the sprint there's a couple of easily missed turns - you'll see them on the way out, but best to to stick with a group or trust in Garmin if you are not sure of the route. There'll also be a 'too lazy to sprint' group (me) cruising back if anyone ends up in the middle of nowhere. Pub is over the tracks at the end about 1/4 mile up on the left. Weather looks superb - a fine night for riding, looking forward to it.

I was actually thinking of getting my arse out there, but an amazing job starts today that I really need to put the hours into... so yes I'm 'wetting the bed' (dreadful public school mentality exhibited by this phrase - like some of the other faintly macho overtones of the tnrc...)
Bet you'll have a great evening. Enjoy.
PS anyone fancy 150k audax this sunday?

I'm out because I'd rather sit in a pub in the evening sun. have a good one.

There are 2 turns you will miss on the ride back...
Here the road sweeps right but you need to stay left, easy to miss at pace if you're following the white lines.
And here you need to take a left up Kitten Lane, you will be going fast downhill and this turn will be in the dark and hard to spot. This one's not such a big deal if you miss it as it only really cuts a corner, you just have to take the left at the bottom and climb back to the route.

I think its time to to come out of TNRC retirement this evening.
I'll either jump on one of the trains at Tottenham Hale, or possibly ride out depending on the time I finish work.
I will update the list shortly.

You get more points so if you do the double loop.

Be warned. The second half of Bower Lane (the climb out of Eynsford on the way out) hasn't fared well over the winter, and a week and a half ago was covered in cow shit.
