This was my route out last time (was following zanda) - seemed to work OK

I was aiming to miss the A1000 last time, but got lost and ended up at Hatfield so it was the easiest way to go. Wasn't as bad as it sounds, to be fair.
Is Carbone Hill something I want to avoid on the way to a TNRC?
-
• #1704
We rode it on the last TNRC IIRC. It's hilly.

Squeaky saddle and new seatpost got nicked today, I'm not risking the cross bike outside work so I'm out yet again.
-
• #1706
Bugger :(
I could lend you a post and saddle?
-
• #1707
No, I street lock so not going to risk other peoples gear. Only a few weeks to go and I move jobs to a place where I can lock indoors.

Yes! Carbone Hill is near Cuffley - too far south east of WGC

Oh, I'll be taking a detour via Enfield on the way from Soho so it's not exactly out of the way. It looks like we went both up and down it on the last TNRC? Is that the one where the top looked to be around the next corner, but all that was around the next corner was another bit of the hill (repeat x many)?

Thoughts on the route heading out? Rod Munch?
I'll be loosely following this..
http://www.strava.com/routes/26906
but, yeah, the A1000 is not as bad as one might think...

I'm going to follow the A1000 pretty much - I have no map reading machine (other than my phone), but know the roads after the M25.

Actually scrap that - I have a new CX bike that needs testing. Richmond Park calls. Sorry.

Yeah looks like a great night for it but I had an interview this a.m. and couldn't hide that and bring in all my cycling shit/bike as well. Have fun all.

• #1719
That's because we announced the final season not the final ride, you probably missed it with all your seamstressing.
-
• #1720
I take it a GS4 is out of the question, then ...
I will get the train, I will see you all there, if you all collectively (or separately) change your minds, could you post here by 7, so I don't end up in Welwyn for ever alone?
-
• #1721
Leaving soho nowish. See you lot at Welwyn
-
• #1722
I'm not going to be finished in time this evening - neither to ride out, nor train out.
Happy TNRCing all.

Dinner wolfed down. 17 miles and an hour and a half to do it. Looks like I ought to be there to meet the train, even if Carbone kills me.
The A1000 takes you pretty much the whole way, no?
