You be surprised how losing 2kg of body weight can do to your climbing ability than losing similar weight on the bicycle.
I'm not too porky but to he fair I don't see myself doing anything but gaining weight in the next few year, now 76kg.
What's that smell... smells like pants on fire!
Digging my smoke trail?

I will be getting the halos/shimano combo for now, not decided on a chain yet.

You love that chain and often say it's the only way so I'll try it out, but if it kills me though I'll have you hunted down and strangled with one.

I have gloves for that now...

Perfect Tenners, can you take him even if he struggles?

My question is, just how safe is it to ride/abuse a Seta, brakeless fixie skidding?
I had a look at Pistoffski's, and he was fairly concerned by the weedy looking dropouts at the back?
-
• #109
Reckon him being at 76kg will be less of a concern, not to mention the front brake aid it too...
-
• #110
Well you see I don't plan to skid it heavily.
Also I know carbon isn't steel but they look far fatter than the dropouts on my Dave Russell. -

Carbon isn't steel.
... and I didn't plan to skid my rear Hed heavily, that lasted about 15 metres.... (:

Ah yes that does happen to me a lot...
I didn't palm to wolf down this Malaysian food I'm eating...... -

Just had a go on SPD-SL and road shoes, favourite pedals so far but you really can't unclip before coming to a stop on the like you can with MTB pedals and shoes! They're so damn slippery when not clipped in so I'll have to practice my clipless relax stands.
Also there is so much more tension with these, feels really locked in. -

unclip before coming to a stop
It's easy once you get used to it :)

I was used to MTB pedals and shoes that don't slip off the pedal straight away lol, I'm sure I'll get used to it :)

What? I don't find it any harder than Spds or ATACs
-
• #120
When you unclip and try to put your foot back on the pedal you don't find it incredibly slippery?
-
• #121
you just twist, disengage the heel but leave the toe in the front half of pedal and its fine
-
• #122
Will do next time, didn't occur when I was riding this afternoon.

You can unclipp and keep your feet still on the flat side of the pedals till you take they off.
I thought it would be pretty annoying riding single sided pedals in town till i actually tried it and it isn't that bad
-
• #124
It's just a matter of getting used to it.

I still have trouble clipping back in pulling away from lights and junctions. I blame years of using double sided SPDs and my general uselessness.
