One of the things I like best about mtb shoes and pedals is if you do unclip you can get your foot on the pedal and slow down... Found that impossible with road pedals.
-
• #128
That's exactly it, much prefer how road pedals feel when riding normally though.
-
• #129
Can you not just slow down into a trackstand at the lights and then ride off afterwards?
-
• #130
I can but I'm too pussy to trackstand clipless with the tension turned way up.

Got a similar dilemma with my Pre Cursa build. Find SPDs so easy to use fixed and had nightmares with SPD SLs on my geared road bike but I think the SPDs would look to shit on a track bike.
Also Bonor is right to reccomend the Z510HX. They are super tough.

Exustar EPS-R pedals weigh a puny 250g for Look Keo copies which are actually better made than low-end Keos and can be had for a meagre £25! I have them on 5 bikes now, they don't die easily and at that price who cares? By the way Indra, you fat bastard (I just weighed in @ 75kg)!

If it's a city bike just put SPDs on it but if like this it's gonna be used for longer road rides to country or on the track then go SPD SL.

I heard bad things about riding fixed on those, even when I look at the in the shop they felt far more flimsy and likely to unclip.
Oh and I'm only gonna get heavier :) -

I"Don't plan to do much city riding or skidding :) "
Sorry, can't let it go... Is there a book going?
-

I only ever go on personal experience, I've wound em up tight and never unclipped or broken them, the weight penalty over my stupidly expensive carbon/ti Keos is only 50g. Then again, might not be suitable for you heavyweights....
Can I be your tub supplier?

Do you ride on the road brklz Colin?

You selling tubs Colin?
-

TM, nope, so I know nothing!
Indra, nope, but I will be if you start skidding on them. Make me rich!
-
• #139
There's no "if" about it Colin...
-
• #140
Actually, come to think of it, Dolan Setas do have a reputation for not being ridden... I take it you are gonna ride it, right Indra?
-
• #141
I will do the London Classic, brakeless on tubs with no skidding, of course I'm serious guys...
-
• #142
What's the longest period of time you've ever spent on a bike without skidding?
-
• #143
1 month, it's not fixed gear and I have the power on the rear disc turned way down.
-
• #144
Was loving the rolling endos on the MTB yesterday (:
-
• #145
I love doing bunnyhops on mine, I've never been good at keeping endos going more than a second though :(
-
• #146
Indra, seriously fam, do you go to school!? How do you have so much time to post in the day!
-
• #147
In short, I don't go as much as I should.
My life is now empty and I don't have much apart from bikes and I don't really have those anymore.
When I'm better and I have a road bike built up you'll be hearing from me far less. -
• #148
Sooooooo you're skiving? or you're at college? *soz bit personal.
-
• #149
The former but I kinda have leave to be off.
-

"Sooooooo you're skiving? or you're at college?"
Same thing, innit?"
Luckily like I said this won't be a city bike.
