Anyone else taking a bag?
what you thinking of putting in it?
only reason I would is to bring shoes. everything else to go in the kit bag (lights, leggings) I'll be wearing on the way there anyway. maybe some extra food for the end. actually, that's a yes, but only a musette sized one. shoes, food and the daft kit bag.Taking my camelbak, I think unless anyone thinks this'll be a bad idea?
sorry, stick wrong end of I got.

at that time of the morning, would DC not be better off just taking the main roads from west london? eg. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2990404
Nah it's always full of tossers. Even on Christmas day some cnut tried to take us out on the Euston road. Hopeless.

fook. the third hill (bottom of pdf) looks a pain.
big call. gear down and feel slightly ashamed for doing so OR risk dismount and deal with men thrice my weight and age smiling smugly as they roll by...1st hill, Newlands Corner, bit draggy, no big deal, nice view from the top.
2nd hill, Leith, this is the test, 2 short but sharp ramps, don't go too early, you'll need to get out the seat when you get to the brick wall, then again after the house, then rolls off at the top into a long fast descent.
3rd hill, Box, long shallow drag, find a rhythm, enjoy the view.

Just had a mosey on down to the starting area and it's looking good. Organised with all the sponsor's banners and the starting gate assembled. A few other people were there checking it out too.
If anyone wants a simple way to get there you could cycle up into Hackney Central, down Morning Lane past the big Tesco, swing a left under the railway bridge and then right onto Homerton High St. Straight all the way down for a few minutes and you're basically there.

Isn't that the Temple Mills entrance?
Perhaps this advice from the organisers is no longer current.
We have just been informed that the Temple Mills Lane entrance to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP) is no longer open for Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 participants on Sunday 4 August due to ongoing transformation work at QEOP

Hmm. Not sure. The steward I spoke to seemed to think it was ok though. If not then there'll be a way around from there.
This is the way I went: http://goo.gl/maps/jcpMC
Gonna grab some sleep. Get 7 or 8 hours in. See you all tomorrow.

In the pen, gel exploded in my pocket on the way. Boo.
sorry, just realised the line takes you actually up over the flyover - I use the roundabout below but it's more or less the same interchange. route edited.
