All this talk about 4am starts is making me feel quite good about my late start time now.. Let's see how long that lasts once I'm in with all the triple chainrings and suspension seat posts.
Weird to think Dammit and Tommy have already started and I'm still sitting at home eating porridge..
Onwards!

Riding on a car free Westway?!?!? WAHHHH... It should've been me!
Good luck all. Enjoy it
Cheers HMS!

Should not have gone back to bed :(

Just got back from the business relay. It was really good, great organization, cars free roads and all the cheering along the road. Done 21.1 miles in 57:31 with a couple of hills at the end.

That was interesting - the (lack of) marshalls sent us head-on into the northbound Blackwell tunnel, at speed.
Still, once we'd sorted that out it was ok.
I didn't do terribly well- first 50 miles in 2 hours, but the second 50 miles took 2:40ish.
I need to work on my pacing, or buy a moped.

At least you finished before being caught by the pros.
Chapeau

It appears that only 15,000 have taken part which means that there were 5,000 or 25% no shows.
A little disappointing given how many people were unable to sign up because it was "full".

4h40 for an imperial century with a couple of hills is more than respectable. Good effort.

Thanks Brun. I told my girlfriend my time and her reply was "you might have gone faster if you'd had some breakfast."

Why is there a tub of salad cream in the goodie bag ?
5'15, I think

Good to see Anna Shitsmear transferring well over to the road from the track, seems she's also left that Australian team she was riding for..

Where do u get a goodie bag? I just got medal then went and sat in the park! Is it worth going and getting one?

Our team finished second in Business Relay. Not bad, but could've done better.

AirTime, they were giving them away half way up Constitution Hill. You didn't miss much, unless you like salad cream (a welcome small bottle of water and chocolate drink aside).
Overall - a bit like flying first class: going to be hard to go back to road with cars, etc. Good stuff, and a lot of smiles.
Oh, got DASed when I was sat on the Mall, too.

Thanks mjs. I pulled off before then to lay down in green park. Garmin shows 4hr38 so pretty happy considering I didn't really get a wheel all day

You can highlight the Ride100 under "lap", if you had any desire to do so.

4:46 moving time, something like 5:15 including the waiting for my brother. Well organised - a brilliant day all round. Feel a bit sick from all the sugar though.
Strava tells me I'm 5th over all up leith hill too. Bonza.

Thanks Brun. I told my girlfriend my time and her reply was "you might have gone faster if you'd had some breakfast."
And as you should well know by now, she's right!

True. If I'd had enough snap in my legs to get on (and hold on) to one of the groups in the second half I'd have cracked four hours.
Next year I shall have porridge before leaving the house.

I was sat in caf on the route in Raynes Park this morning, spotted a few rainbow jerseys. It's nice that they have a nodder world championships now.

What time did BoJo do it in then? Like anyone cares.
"A cycling version of the London marathon" is it fuck. A marathon is hard and needs training. Even my granny could ride 100 miles on a stick of rhubarb (with gears) and she's been dead for twenty years.

Presume BoJo did a Savile and hopped into a car after being filmed at the start so that he could then be filmed finishing. This is about photo ops not actual cycling.
Dawn of the mamils!
