Question on settling cats into their new home with Feliway
We've just adopted a pair of cats (mother & son, 8 & 4), introduced them to their new home yesterday evening. After leaving them overnight in the kitchen, opening the door this morning sent both under the sofa where they stayed. They'd eaten all the food and one used the litter tray, but are clearly very nervous/shy/scared.
Conscious it takes time for cats to settle into new surroundings (these are particularly shy), was wondering if it getting a Feliway diffuser would help speed up the process and help them relax, or is unnecessary and should not both to try and speed it up.
Thoughts? Anyone have similar experiences? Would't want to use it indefinitely, did you notice any issues stopping?
P.S. photos to follow when they aren't hiding under the sofa!

We've had Feliway things at various times, I have never noticed any difference in cat behaviour with or without, but it's possible I'm just very unobservant.

Cat situation:
We have a lovely forum cat, she's black and white and fluffy.
There's a neighbourhood stray, he's also black and white and fluffy. He's quite sweet and silly, but sometimes has quite matted fur and scratches.
My wife tried to find out who he belonged to, and discovered that Number 15 a few doors up had been feeding him and trying to get him in to theirs, but he wasn't that keen on theirs as they also have an Alsation. .
However, they had him spayed and microchipped.
He's been a permanent fixture in our garden and the neighbour's garden ever since- through the whole winter.
We've thought about trying to take him in, but I don't think Tesla would appreciate it.
We could try telling Number 15 to take more responsibility, but they probably haven't seen him in weeks so they might think it's our problem.
Does anyone want a big fluffy cat?

When we adopted Euronymous he sat in the corner facing the wall all of the first day.
Ate and used the litter box over night.
Hid behind the CDs the second day ( was accepting for from my hand).
He was a bit weird for the first week, but fine after.
Herman was never like this just settled in straight away, when he had his balls chopped off he wasn't phased and just continued terrorising us, wasn't in the slightest bit groggy.

Thanks for the feedback @Dammit @Dogs, decided not to purchase anything and turns out I didn't need to.
Got home yesterday afternoon, both cats were again hiding under the sofa. After a couple hours working quietly in the same room, Mum came out and after a couple more hours was relaxed enough to settle and snooze in the open. For the first time she was happy for me to approach and as soon as I started petting, she relaxed further, started purring and her son came out to join in!
Was quite late, so excuse the only non-blurry photo which showcases the current state of the Cat Introduction Zone

my 11 (12 in August) year old Tabby is hobbling on one leg more and more, bless her - the vet examined her and didn't seem to think there was anything wrong, or that she was in pain.....she also lifts that legs paw when she sits - she also flicks her paw a lot as if she's trying to get feeling back :/
I've tried Joint Ace liquid with her and whilst she does eat food with it administered, it doesn't seem to do anything - has anyone got any recommendations for supplements that help with stiff joints?

I don't think Tesla would appreciate it.
You’d find out pretty quickly either way I’d imagine

I'm glad to hear that! Pretty much the best news I've had today, amidst covid-19.

Would anyone like this mega cat toy for their cat? It's rad. Archie doesn't play with it any more. The ball flashes when in motion, I even have spare batteries for it which I'll include. When the archduke of Caterbury was mini he was absolutely bonkers for this toy. Very engaging and keeps em moving, probably very stimulating for reaction time etc. Anyway, free to whomever would like to collect from whitechapel E1. Happy weekend folks!

5 nights? Christ, I’d have been a right mess after that long. Glad he’s back!

Yeah, I'd love that, we've only got a little one for Herman but he plays with it all the time.

We were not in a good way. Earlier on the evening he reappeared, our daughter was with us and tears were shed.
