  • Loud kitten is loud. - YouTube

Just paste the full long link from the youtube site with nothing after the video number bit (mNs64GGXQys), and forum pixies take care of the rest.

  • ahh nice one.

  • Can we go back to flea treatment for a moment, please? I have Effipro spot on from the vet. Touch wood cat hasn't had any flea but she seems to be scratching a bit more lately... I have also been reading on the wonderful internet and apparently it's just the same as Frontline... She used to use stronghold, so I was told.... Should I go back to the vet see if they would give me some of those without the presence of my cat?

  • flea collars?

  • Yes you can get flea treatment with out taking your cat you can get the drops online and will be cheaper than the vets.

  • No offence to anyone intended, and I don't want to downplay any illnesses,
but I really am astounded how much talk of medicine there is in this thread,
and how often some of you guys take your cat to the vet, really.

I had / lived with 10+ cats in my life, and apart from one (who got really ill after 13 years and who needed shots then)
there was hardly any need to go to vets at all.

Isn't stronghold one of the ones that require a prescription? I remember the vet saying they will only give out anything if I bring the cat...but it was the first time we visited them...

  • you should be able to buy with out taking the cat as long as the cat is registered with the vet. just call the vet to check, if they say no they are stupid!

  • That's what I am thinking, i am just gonna go back to say they can take back the stuff I have now, they could throw it away to do whatever... I just want some stronger stuff for the summer months...

This is how loud Opie is when he gets left on the other side of a door.

(how do I embed youtube videos?)

They sound so pitiful when they meow like this! Guess that's the whole point.

  • ^ Opie is so loud but the meows are so pathetic, you can't ignore it for long.
    A real 'cat alarm'.

I don't take my cat to the vet to get stronghold, just drop into the vets. I could buy stuff cheaper online, especially his special diet, but the vet is nice and close and I hope by supporting them this way they won't close this branch down. The only thing I haven't bought was the acclaim free spray which was 27 quid!

Tina Kino, did you not take your cats for annual check ups & vaccinations?

  • The last one yes, the others no.

  • Pocket is a twat.

    4.00 am Jumpy, meowy funtime.

4.45 am Purry, pillow walky, eye lick time.

5.30 am Jumps on bed, then off, then on, then eats Mrs W's hair, then walks on my face, then gets locked in kitchen.

5.35 am Sounds like a kitten with the forearms of Hulk ripping the bottom off the kitchen door. Mrs W gets up, opens the blinds for cat viewing time, unlocks catflap. Cat does not look out of window or go outside.

5.50 am Brings all the toys into bedroom. Jumps on my nuts. I go into kitchen, throw out uneaten cat food from last night and replenish bowl. Cat ignores bowl.

6.30 am Massive fight with imaginary cat beast thing at foot of bed. Eats my feet.

7.30 am Meows at cat flap. Seems to have forgotten how to operate it.

8.30 am Throws all toys down stairs, runs up and down getting them, throws them all down again.

9 am. We finally get up after our first 'lie in' in three weeks. Cat fucks off outside.

9.30 am Returns soaking wet, eats a load of food, goes to sleep.

    Like I said. Twat!

  • She sounds just like a typical cat... :-P

  • Like I said...

  • You seem to have forgotten the no 1 rule of cat ownership.

1 you do not own the cat, you are only lodgers in the cat's house on the condition you pay all the bills, feed it on demand and act like the butler and maid at all times.

As has been said, typical cat.

  • This is true. When we banished her she acted like Naomi Campbell in full diva strop mode.

    Nob

  • Patch tried to jump on my laps once when I wasn't the bathroom, natural reaction was to push her down, oh man that was a big mistake... She tried to hold on with her claws and I ended with inches long wounds on my laps...

    Cool pic by the way...
How many laps do you have?!

I have to say, this isn't obvious to me. Perhaps people on here don't use the search tool before asking about treatments/meds but I can't think of anyone who takes their cats to the vets too often, I mean, it's often both stressful and expensive. But even if people did, surely that's much better than neglecting to deal with an issue? I applaud the love shown towards our pets on this forum.

  • Yes, surely it's right to not neglect issues, and I also applaud the love!

  • I know you do. You're the vegan cat lady of Berlin :)

  • How many laps do you have?!

Clearly not enough for the cat... must try harder...

  • Gave nob face some broccoli and a bit of roast chicken with her tea. Last night she was peaceful and I was awoken by my alarm for the first time since we adopted her! Progress? No. She'd been sick on the rug and was feeling sheepish.

  • Sorry I shouldn't have laughed, but I did... is she OK?

On the other hand, it seems that my boss doesn't really like the boyfriend staying over night that much - we have been busy so this weeked was the 1st weekend he'd stayed over in 3 weeks or so.... 1st time in a very long time that the boss attacks feet in the morning... It was that bad we had to shut her out of the bedroom...

Can't you shut Pocket out of the bedroom? I mean she will no doubt meow endlessly but she'd soon give up... mine does... she only does it for a few mins and of I tell her to shut up, she actually does...
