The Cat Thread

I was almost in tears this morning when I woke up at 7:30 and no cat was nearby... she waited patiently on her (my) chair for me to give breakfest... she did come in at about 4 I think to tap my head and when she realized I was sleeping (I wasn't really... ) she left me be very quickly... please this not be a one off...

Cool, we're going to carry on combing him and get some vet grade stuff at the weekend. Any recommendations for a vet near New Cross?

There's a Celia Hammond clinic in Lewisham, near NC. Their rates are cheap and I have found them efficient. Madly busy though. If it's just to get some flea stuff go there or Andrew Kirby's in Grange Road, Bermondsey, who are pricey for a consult but very good.

Got an infected cat bite on my finger. Wouldn't normally be a problem but i've heard cats have disgusting mouths, think i'll need antibiotics?

Depends on the wound. If you get ANY symptoms, go see a doctor.

Clean your hands, put sugar, betadine, alcohol or some other disinfectant on it right after the bite.

cat scratch fever? The only cure is to play some Blues guitar at a crossroads - I think.....

that's his default mode... he used to bite me every time I picked him up when he was a kitten, still doesn't like it at all to be fettled with in any sort of way. we love him nonetheless ;)

I'm basically the same when anyone tries to fettle me.

Recently I've been teaching Newt to sit on my shoulder like so:

Alas this backfired on me the other night. Got up to answer the call of nature and sat on the loo. Newt then climbed onto the bath, into the bathroom sink (this has been a thing recently) and then jumped onto my shoulders. Very difficult to coax her down and didn't want to stand up for the obvious reasons.

Patch tried to jump on my laps once when I wasn't the bathroom, natural reaction was to push her down, oh man that was a big mistake... She tried to hold on with her claws and I ended with inches long wounds on my laps...

Ikea Stolmen poles are fucking genius. Been building the hell out of this stuff. I'm gonna build these damn cats a ceiling city!

When my cat was a kitten she did this, I'd come out the bath and was shirtless. Luckily she'd learnt that claws on skin meant a lot of shouting. So I just caught and held her on my shoulder.

There is nothing more rewarding than having had a good night sleep, waking up to find the cat sitting nearby, seemingly waited patiently all night long for me to wake up so she could have few moments of fuss... The pretending I am fast asleep method seems to be working... 1 point to human. Or is she realy just plotting the next phase of attacks?

Broken leg cat looks 100% trouble.

no matter how quiets I try and sneak out of the bedroom in the morning to avoid disturbing Mrs Pun Shadow decides is sing song time... she even upped it today by heading over to Mrs Pun's face and meowing loudly ffs

sometimes I am glad I have a quiet cat... she only meows very rarely...
