Looks great, have you got everything now?
-
• #128
I think so, but my brother have borrowed the pedals.
I need to borrow a headset installation tool, but I think I'll hold out until I can put it together all in one go. (sholdn't really take much longer than laying everything up like that and take photos.) -

btw dammit, surlys 3/32" cog goes beautifully with a 9speed chain. I suspect the chainrings will as well.

I've gone for SRAM 1050 11-32 cassette, a 44T Specialities TA middle ring to use as a single ring up front and a guide ring+pusher guide to keep the chain on.
I'm just waiting for the calipers now- I can go but not stop.

What did it end up coming at in, weightwise?
-
• #136
luggage scales says between 8.7 and 8.8. but that's with rather heavy hipster pedals.
with spds I've calculated it to be 8.60 depending on the weight of grease and assembly paste.
I won't have the proper pedals until the end of the month though. -

Consider me well beaten! I've just done some calculations and I reckon my version of your bike, with off-road tyres will be 9.15kg.

Lightest SPD pedals you can buy is the Shimano A600, lighter than the XTR mtb pedals too;

Thanks. I've got some 540ies in the post though.

Oman dron, so nice, definite inspiration,
Only thing Im not sure on is the chainring looks a bit odd ?
-
• #143
it's an old 8speed(?) record. looks better in the flesh.
I think it suits the cranks all right for that retro/modern mash up look that I like. -

Did you perhaps mean the lightest pedal shimano makes?
I have these at a claimed 160g (never weighed them)
And also these that are double sided are lighter. Both have worked pretty good for me.

I have tried that Wellgo pedals in the middle before, it's a nightmare riding with one sided SPD without the body to weight it the right way round.
The last one look interesting.
That's some sexy flooring right there... Also, LUSH.
