  • Silver would've looked better buddy. They're uglier in photos than when on the bike...

  • hahahha TTs with that bike?

  • Slave TTs no?

  • Naaa, think silver will be making too much of a feature of it.

    Haha, yup, TTs with it!

I know it won't be as fast or as aero as a proper TT bike, but this build is purely for the enjoyment of riding a bike.

  • TTs

the enjoyment of riding a bike.

    Doing it wrong

  • Pain is fun.

  • Given up on the whole 'full NJS build' because in all honesty, I'm really not that bothered.

Should be receiving a Kashimax Aero on monday (quite a ratty one) but I'll be selling it as I've just purchased a SLR which I'm going to strip, they ride amazing stripped.

Serviced my KEO pedals and ordered another gatorskin and 19t cog.

I just need bars, tape and lever and I can start building her!

  • dibs on the aero for shinkuu

  • i also got a red sugino 75 tape if you interested...

  • Hmmm, red might look sweet.

No dibs until I've put it in a sale thread, I get quite pissed when something has been dibs'd before it goes in sale

  • Dont strip the slr!

I have a stripped one I'll swap you.

  • In all honesty, I really cannot be bothered to send it off and wait for the same thing to come back, just without padding.

  • I wouldn't strip it and SLR the padding is actually really nice, also if you are wearing jeans with a stripped saddle, they will wear through.

    Just FYI

  • I did ride a stripped SLR for a few months and loved it, but sold it due to low funds :(

I strangely find the really small uncomfortable looking saddles more comfortable than a Rolls etc.

  • Bars on there way from the US, wheels will be here end of this week.

    SOON.

  • I wouldn't strip it and SLR the padding is actually really nice, also if you are wearing jeans with a stripped saddle, they will wear through.

    Just FYI

Truefact - I went right through the seat of a pair of Carhardts after about 3months on a stripped Flite.
    Shocking

  • Non-stripped SLR +1

*Bit chunky looking, but sooo comfortable.

  • Running padded slr here too, only stripping it when the cover is too shabby, no point stripping a perfectly good saddle.

  • I can't imagine stripping an SLR makes much of a difference, there's fuck all padding on them anyway

  • frame color is very nice

  • Wheels arrived today, I can start putting this together when the bars arrive..

  • Quick potatochop..

In all honesty really glad I didn't buy the frame I was originally going to get but didn't due to the bent forks. When I received this frame I noticed a few little chips of the paint and wear on the drop-outs where wheels have been tightened with different ratios and chain tension etc and I love it. I think I would have been a little disappointed if this frame came perfect as I love that it's been 'used' for Keirin racing, same goes for the cranks etc. Seat-post does have a few marks from where it's been adjusted, I did think about stripping and highly polishing it before it arrived, but I really do love the wear on it.

My father restored vintage racing cars for a living, and I can associate it with that, nobody wants a Rally car that's not scuffed dented and scratched.

  • I totally agree with your views on used bikes and cars. No point something being in showroom condition when you are going to use it, and the spirit of the kieren gods lives in those chips etc!

    Looks great James!!!

Did you get my PayPal for those bars dude?
