• Garmin HR transmitters can be put through a washing machine. Don't ask me how I know.

  • It even has a label attached to the strap saying to put it in a net bag into a washing machine every 7 uses. Or do you mean the actual pod that clicks onto the strap?

  • do you mean the actual pod that clicks onto the strap?

Yes, the pod containing the electronics. The classic one, not the 'Premium' soft-strap one

Some sort of freudian Triathlon seduction

  • Just back from a long weekend there - highlights were Pico and VOTT for sure. Just make sure you have more than a 28t handy unless you are happy with a cadence of under 50rpm for long sections..

Planning a Mallorca spring camp too - probably around the time of the bank holidays to maximise time off.

  • PowertapG3 3.5weeks. 1300km.

Is broken or nah? ( Value should be 512 +-12, right? )

  • Fine. Mine is consistently below 500 whenever it's below 15 degrees. Nothing to worry about.

  • Good. Vapourware rubbish. They had a bit on their site at one point saying that my research into Q Factor was all wrong, having conducted "internal tests" and deciding that it was like, totally fine to increase your Q Factor by half a cubit each side.

  • Internal tests with their non-existent PM it would appear.

  • It does exist, but there's a bike industry conspiracy to steal their idea.

I loved the Apple line, everyone knew the iPhone was coming because Apple had been recruiting engineers with mobile expertise for at least 2 years before it was announced.

  • Ah- of course. At Talbot we have to fend off the rest of the bike industry trying to pinch our ideas ALL THE TIME, so what it's like for a PM manufacturer I can only imagine.

  • I can't believe that many people jumped on the Limits crap.

Now they want to do testing in December when they originally planned to ship, but only expect one month delay because "We estimate that a 2-3 weeks period will be sufficient to allow reviewers to test LIMITS". What planet do they live on? Any sane schedule would've had these tests months ago.

Good to see Mr Maker taking responsibility.

  • wow, that's the first slamming of a product I've seen from him, but in fairness, if they want to control their own media then why share all that stuff with some geek in his bedroom...

  • Absolute bollocks, thought I'd be ok on a 39 but bloody hell do some of those climbs ramp up and stay ramped.
Saw Ian Boswell climb Soria 6th fastest overall and 9 minutes faster than me.
The wind is constant rather than gusty, but rarely took 2 hands off the bars! Think a few days it was 30mph NE

  • Got the power2max black friday deal and purchased a Type S FSA Gossamer crank that will arrive in the next weeks with some 52/36 praxis works chainrings and rotor bolts (both for free), will post photos if someone is interested.

  • DCRainmaker reviews the 4iii Precision (left leg only) power meter:-

    "
Until [the other similar meters fall in price], it takes the KOM for the least expensive direct force power meter on the market – and one that’s just as accurate and easy to use as ones that cost significantly more.
    "

$399, no idea of the cost for the UK.

  • $399, no idea of the cost for the UK.

My money is on £399 :-)

  • And you still have to send your cranks to have it fitted

  • My pioneer is scoring well on the "just works" front

  • £288 allegedly (from a comment in an old DCR blog post), and no crabon cranks.

  • the 4iii Precision (left leg only) power meter

They are trying to see if the S75 arm is capable of the pod installment.
