Battery in srm?

Does power and cadence both drop out together?
I wasn't paying enough attention. Will look out for that next time. I do have a PC7 but I've seen it do this on the trainer when the laptop via ANT+ stick (which is much further away than the head unit) continues to give correct numbers.
Battery in srm?
It's pretty new, and does still report as new. I'm thinking (and hoping) this is down to a recent Garmin software update.

Are there gaps in the data when you upload it to Training Peaks or whatever? I sometimes find my Garmin has glitches where it doesn't show power or cadence data 'live' - but the data is still all recorded and there when I look at the files on TP.

The gap is present in Strava when I had this outside, but inside I discard the rides from the Garmin and let TrainerRoad upload the ride from the USB ANT+ - no gaps there.
Not a pretty graph - commuting in heavy traffic. You can see it disappear, then give the small readings I mentioned, then give up till I recalibrated.

Tested my FTP today, the real way. It's what I thought it was based on intuition, to the exact Watt.
So my N=1 study is conclusive. You don't need to test.
/end.

Impressive. Having just had a look, I wonder how many could pace an hour that well.

fuuuuu
Just went out and did 15 miles then reset, smashed out a 10 mile at 80rpm so I could see the difference in power/hr.
held reset, gets stuck on 3, 2, 1....... Hold it again, resets. Plug in garmin to mac, zero kb .fit file. Thanks Garmin.

Word of warning for people. I recently bought a Power2max classic pm from eBay user plymouthwhite1. It turned out to be a dud, he had totally ruined it by over tightening the battery cover screws. I've just managed to get eBay to refund me, however that was not easy as the seller was being a total cunt about it.
If he tries to sell it again, AVOID.

I did exactly what I mentioned above yesterday.
I rode a 20 climb as a test, and then the overside at threshold based on the result. Made for a perfect intense 2x20. If my training didnt involve 20 min climbs I guess I'd test less. But it feels easier riding by power with a recent figure in mind.
My FTP was exactly what I guessed it was to be honest.

Where did you do it?

There's a good 7mile stretch between 2 roundabout near where I am, in south Cambridgeshire. Did it there.
There are a few places South of London it can be done. I'll draw on ridewithgps if you want?

I'll draw on ridewithgps if you want?
Please do - I've spent the past day looking for something that would work - I'm not keen on the idea of having jelly legs and tunnel vision and having to navigate complex routes too.

Yeah that would be great

I'll do it a bit later for public roads, but few suggestions.
RP3LC - just do it in evening or 10am. And anti clock
Hillingdon - boring but easy
Lea valley - think you can just ride this any time but never checked.I've used RP3Lc befor. You lose a bit on sawyers and maybe roundabouts, but it's repeatable. And if not busy you lose the same. But also harder to get into a groove as so many speedbumps.
So a few road options to come later today.
This is about as good as it gets. Few options here.
Main road between Reigate and Dorking. I've done efforts here fine.
Circuit around strood green - fine few turns but you can see them. Go flanchford road to make a bit longer if want
Dorking leather head main road - used to do most of my 2x20 on road here till I moved to t
turbo perminently (QUALITY)Beltchingly RR circut without the big hill. Fine.
Charlwood newdigate rusper - bit more rolling and turns but fine for efforts.
Obviously none are great, but they're all close to town. RP is still one of the best places if it's quiet. Or just do 40min test on turbo. Repeatability is key.

Are there any Garmin Vector users on here? I'm getting really disappointing battery times. Like, one five hour ride on fresh batteries and I get a "low battery" warning.

Just bagged a brand new pair of FFWD f6t wheels with a new powertap .... Accurate power on the track here I come. Second power meter acquired, buyer status; confirmed.

Recon Jet now does ANT+ power.

How much do we trust the extended statistics of strava?
a lot?
not a lot?
I'm asking for a friend who did a turbo session yesterday, and the weighted watts per kg seems a bit high. -

not a lot?

• #5122
If it's not data from a measuring device ie. a powermeter and a set of scales then it's bullshit.
-
• #5123
Yes, but thankfully no issues with mine to date. I think I last changed battery a few months ago and have only been through a few of sets of batteries in 18months.
Frustratingly the only time that they have ever had issues was during my aerocoach session when I needed accurate power measurement, and every minute sat fiddling with my PM was ££££ down the drain. However that was a pairing issue, not batteries.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw a weighted w/kg of 6.04.

Are you guys similar in fitness? Slap him with a glove, challenge him to a bicycling race using bikes with wheels up a small mountain and see who wins.
Does power and cadence both drop out together? Do you have a PC7 to check against the Garmin?
I can lend you one if you don't.
