From race data in the last month or so:
5s: 1,580
30s: 996
1m: 550
2m: 450
5: 370
20: 300
1hr: 259Pretty much just racing track this year. 1hr power might be higher, but what kind of idiot rides in circles for an hour?

But actually, road. With a very small amount of track.

Interesting to see you figures, your 5 and 30 trounce mine but then there is a much sharper drop off. Most seem concerned with ftp in road racing but as long as you have good 1 and 5 minute values you'll get by ok because that's what makes the difference in making the selection or not.

Same with track I guess. Also the races are so short that you don't really need that sustained power, so I haven't worried about ftp at all this year really. All the training I've been doing are over/under sessions, 30s sprints and rev outs. Oh and lifting things off the floor in the gym.
My 20min and hour power were much better last year when I was training for TT's too - meant I got really good at riding devils from the front, but I just couldn't hang on in the last couple of laps of a longer scratch when people ramped the pace up. -

Cheating! How do you get time/inclination for anything off bike?
Explosive power at 5s!

If the plan is 8 weeks I wouldn't re-test.
If you're coming into it quite unfit I suppose you're going to improve a lot, making the ftp figure a little easy to hit. Just try and ride at the top end etc to compensate.
You could test at the start of the fifth week.

@amey I like the gym (well, not the environment or the people, but I like what it does to me). It's easy to fit in around work - but does feel a bit weird squatting 100kg at 6.30 in the morning.
It does mean I do less riding, but I actually feel strong for the first time in my life and it's really sorted out back and neck problems by strengthening weak muscles. It's also helped shift some more fat.. I'm the same weight as I was in Jan, but with a LOT more muscle on me. The DOMS are horrific at first; there were days in February where I could hardly walk. -

This is where training peaks shines. Easy to check 20min best etc, and even sends an Email if you set a New 20min record. For some reason I like the threshold Power notifications. They feel like kudos.
[Edit - confused Training Peaks with TrainerRoad]
TrainerRoad does similar, but "new FTP, ZOMG thank you TrainerRoad!" screenshot bragging on tw*tter/instatw*t is a bit weird, especially as it's only an estimate and most people are going to be using trainers that are miles out. My Kickr adds 10-15W of flattery - well, according to SRM.

There is a good mix of power profiles on here it seems. Impressed by your 5s @dan.
My recent numbers:
5s: 1212
30s: 919
1m: 543
2m: 421
5m: 367
20m: 267
1hr: 237
2hr: 222My FTP really suffered after not riding for the first year after my daughter was born. Slowly upping the volume again now to recover it. FTP currently set at 245w.

Be impressed by @Smallfurry 's 5s!
I'm basically just a rubbish sprinter -
• #5089
@dan I was actually impressed with your 30s.
My 5s is from Norwegian race organisers being scared of bunch sprints, and setting the finish line at the top of short (50m or so) 15+% climbs.
The trouble With these Charts is that we havent all given hundred percent at all the different time periods. But from what we have. If youre hungry now. Get dan to toast Your bread. If you just want loads of toast over a long period Greenbanks the man. I Guess Hippy has a decent 24hr Power. But who'd trust Hippy With their Food.

Hmmm meat Slices. Meatless thickened gravy wrapped in soggy puff pastry. half a dozen stale ones for a pound. Breakfast of champions.

^ Also a good solution to the Great Pension Problem.

Flooding the market with yesterdays budget meat Slices. Thus causing a massive increase in mortality rates, and thereby halving the number of People reaching pension age?

anyone else find that they just reach their max hr before their legs start to burn? Hr seems to be my limiting factor.
sorry - where is the training thread?

If your lungs hurt, change up a gear until your legs hurt as well. If your legs hurt, change down a gear until your lungs hurt as well.

My Edge 1K is doing something weird with the SRM. It drops the connection and goes to zero watts, I wait and hope it comes back. Sometimes it does, other times it doesn't or gives figures that are about 20% of what they should be. I'll stop and calibrate, and it will show that the previous calibration was over 1000, but I have never seen the number over 600 when I manually calibrate. It will then run fine again. It's like it has auto-recalibrated while I'm pedaling...
Bikes, obviously.
