It looks like the initial ire is focused on the selfie taker. They move back leaving their mate behind them at the mercy of the slap.

lol at the guy looking down at it afterwards. Reminds me of this

I see he starts repeat offending towards the end... like some crazy phone swatting computer game.

    Makes app

  • Didn't he do it at least twice?

  • Maybe he's just a Samsung Galaxy man.

  • Eisel Bernhard of Australia, who competes on Team Sky with Chris Froome, the defending champion, urged fans to “respect” the riders by keeping off the course.

Major Lulz at the Telegraph. Eisel Bernhard, or Eisie Bernie as we all like to call him, didn't like the crowds which is odd for an Australian as they usually share beers with the crowds as they go.

  • Missed out on following the peloton yesterday (mates went Harewood-Grassington-Harrogate) because I have a baby. Made up for it today though by getting this close to them and also dressing my son as Brian Robinson for the occasion.

  • It was all so nice until Sheffield...

Ha, got some neg rep for this. Truth hurts, Chris. The outskirts of Sheffield are bleak. But the same is true of most cities. Just be happy you've got access to such amazing roads (once you get by the wrecking yards)

  • ha! ace :D

  • Gotta love that brown dog clip they keep playing

  • Midhopestones was good. Lots of atmosphere and plenty of banter. I have no idea what happened in the stage though, it felt like there was about 5 different groups.

  • was alreet wannit.
hope the London crowds have as much fun tommorrow,
    oh, one point worth mentioning,
chapeau to all the riders who went up there on their own bikes where cars were banned,
epic amount of bikes by the side of t'roads, waaaay better than France,
    oh one more thing,
every hill I ever climb from now on becomes cote de....

Those Australians all have funny first names ending in -el, like Cadel.

  • Can we just take a second to note just how many spectators there were? This country fucking loves cycling it appears.

  • yeah werent many forruns there

  • Channel 4 news saying 1 million in Yorkshire to watch the Tour.

    Can that be right?

  • Definitely believable

  • About one in 60 of mainland UK is passionate enough about cycling to go and watch the Tour then?

    Incroyable.

  • see they got Bucknam Pallis barriered up already

  • I hear figures of 2-3mil yesterday.

  • Just back from two epic days in north yorkshire.. staying with smashing niall from bishop thornton. We were roadside stage 1 at Otley and close to finish in Harrogate by Hawes Bar.. spotted corny on the road, alas phone died around 3pm taking too many picz.
This morning at Blubberhouses, more epic scenes. Weather was stunning, still haven't seen any highlights yet.
Spotted Trek team coach on the M1 this evening.
    Pics soon.

  • is it possible to watch the itv or eurosport coverage in full online?

  • Yes. Itv will have it on catch up soon if not yet.

  • i've just finished watching the 45 minute highlights programme, of which there's about 30 minutes of the race. will they put the full days coverage on catch-up as well?

  • Belting ride from Manc to hebden via saddleworth. Got a brekkie in mytholmroyd. Then set a personal best up cragg vale. Back down to the robin hood pub and a few white lions to pass the time. Then down to hebden to watch holme moss in the park and back home. Now packing for 2 weeks in Majorca. Well done to all involved in the 2 Yorkshire stages. It has been superb. How many sheep were sacrificed to the weather gods?

The organisers said 2.5 million, apparently:

The police said that the turnout was 13 people and a dog.
