Also, what happened to that gold headset? If you've still got it, I may have a use for it as the bike I built my brother will, eventually, have all gold components. Brakes and headset are still silver, however...

Ahh gold headset got evil bayed a while back I'm afraid :s
Was a bit of a niche item so thought I'd try and get it to a wider audience -
• #129
Bah, not to worry. Seems Dia Compe do a £15 jobbie, available on Wiggle.
-
• #130
^^ I'm worried that I gave you a complex about that headset. It wasn't that 'dodgy', really...
-
• #131
Hahah true but wouldn't have worked with the paint scheme anyway :)
-
• #132
Right, before I split them up I will offer them here...
Bar stem combo pictured above (with or without) benotto black tape
£40Stem is Nitto Jag AA njs 110cm (without original bolt) minor scratches
Bars are generic alu drops with a 25.4 clamp - nice cheap alternative to nitto ones.
Tape speaks for itself! -

barginz

• #134
Would you be willing to post it?
-
• #135
could feasibly post if its uk?
otherwise the new "volumetric weight" charges make it too expensive!Pm me anyone, will put it in a proper sale thread later in the week along with other goodies.
Also anyone know how to remove fucked hex bolts in spd cleats? some numpty sold me sidis off ebay with seized in cleats

• #136
Have you tried Plusgas dismantling fluid? Or is the problem that the heads are fucked.
-
• #137
The heads are fucked :(
-
• #138
Ok so while I pluck up the courage to get busy with the drill on my new Sidis, I have new shiny things ....
To try and level out my cockpit (i can't handle the Jag)
To eventually go with my knackered shoes
Still waiting for my bargain ebay saddle to turn up!

• #139
Nice, stem will match with your headbadge ;d
-
• #140
You got it!
Hopefully it will look matched without being too fixxxeehh matched :) -
• #141
It probably will haha ;)
-
• #142
Finally finished, new cockpit - Cinelli Pinocchio and Cinelli touch bars
Only downside is the horrible Planet X tape but I'm sick of fiddling with it! -
• #143
Awesome build :-) I'm soon up a swinnerton frame and wonderd where you got the head badge made?
-
• #144
Well done, she looks gorgeous.
-
• #145
Yes the new bar and stem and saddle has worked a treat, looks great. Better picture required i think!
-
• #146
Ha, I too bought that tape, fucking horrid.
Now, sorry to say this, but the bars ruin it for me. So close to perfect.
-
• #147
cheers chaps!
soserious, headbadge can be bought direct from swinnerton (they still exist) but are old school varnish-fix
aahah TM close but no cigar eh? I'm not 100% on them either, but I've decided to make this a bit more comfortable as it's getting more use than my road bike at the moment.
-
• #148
I would prefer either nitto road bars, spotter bars, b125aa, cinelli criterium, cinelli campione del mundo, cinelli giro d'italia....
Ergo bend just looks wrong to me, I had some b127s in the past and couldn't stand the shape...

Fair observation! really want to go for a black quill + post + headset eventually - so maybe bar change will occur then.
Also for my sins it is currently not running on campy wheels but destickered mavic ellipses!
Don't usually like ellipses on steel frames but they look surprisingly ok

Nitto noodles would look perfect on this
no worries fam, should be comfier than the Nittos.
