Im sure i'll be there on the Bianchi for the 3rd time. Did the 135km this year and might opt for the 75km so i can enjoy the wine on the ride a bit more.
Also after driving there this year i might actually fly and get a place to stay nearer Gaiole -

Was going to stick this in the current projects thread at some time, but this seemed a more appropriate place.
I would like to take a Witcomb to L'eroica, specifically this one:
Needs a fair bit of work, but I've got the best part of a year. Plan is to do a pretty full restoration, and build it up with Dura Ace Group. Not typical for a Witcomb I grant you, but at least it will then match Mrs Jingle Jangle's machine:

^^^^^ That'll look great. Also those L'eroica signs never fail to excite.

Spent a week in Gaiole this year. Beautiful place and great for indulging in the market place eating/drinking coffee etc but I was surprised at how quite the place was. Even on the Friday night when the place should have been full of people it was deserted. (maybe the lack of a pub)

100% agree. But, God, if my girlfriend knew it was already starting again she'd have a nervous breakdown. :)

First-timer to this forum but been at l'Eroica for two years now (75 and 135).
Going this year and staying in Gaoile, so would be great to hook up in the town for some cheeky spritzers.

There was a cool guy who's dad has a very small vineyard in the hills around the town. (very un-Italian name of Penthany O'Kelly) He and his friends set up a wine stall/bar outside their house in the town and sold cheap but amazing bottles of their produce. They played AC/DC and Cat Stephens on a CD player till quite late. Probably the best bet for any late night fun next year.

I've sorted accommodation in Gaoile now but if anyone is interested here's a link to an apartment in the centre of the town which is currently available.

The guy's name is Phil and seems like a very friendly and helpful chap.

Looks nice, but is their danger with the dates changing? Or is it always the same??

Couldn't resist... just booked Spaltenna for Friday 4th to Tuesday 8th! Anyone like minded can follow suit via Hotels.com. Pay on checkout, cancel up to 7 days before (no I don't work there!). Now just need to hope a) L'eroica is that weekend and b) I get on the thing again! Oddly excited

Just managed to find a pretty cheap B+B in Radda. The accommodation in Gaiole itself seems pretty booked solid. The place we got last year was gone as were all it's neighboring apartments. There's still a few places left for groups though.

Well I don't want to bearer of bad news but after following a few blog sites I stumbled upon this.
http://italiancyclingjournal.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/2013-leroica-enrollment-attention.html?m=1
It looks like l'eroica 2013 will be a lottery for riders. Again with number restrictions but it's not like before where the registration goes live and it's first come first served.
Well that's blown all plans out of the window. -

So if you want to go with mates you may get in but they may not? Good plan Italians.

boo... I'm going whatever, it's not all about the ride :)
got me excited again john - i think 75km and carry beer, food and cigars with us is a good shout
:)
I'll certainly be there again, thinking about stepping down from the 205 this year, to maximise drinking and photo time round the course, but it's Bianchi's first year of sponsorship, don't want to miss out on free goodies! cant wait.[/QUOTE]
