Now that you're used to riding brakeless on the Pomp, are we going to see this rebuilt?
Maybe. Riding brakeless because I couldn't fit the brake, rather than not wanting to use one....
Will probably ride brklzz on this, but I think 52/19 is a bit high for brakeless.
Dont think he has wheels?
Have hubs, don't have wheels.
shouldn't have sold teh crabonz innit
Yes I should. I have Merckx now.
Sells porny wheels, buys pomp...
...Pomp replaced Leader. Money from Leader paid for the Pomp...

48/19 is the winning ratio for inner city braklzz and 48/17 for longer stuff

I find 52/19 perfect.
It just so happens to be half way between Apollo's two favourite gear setups.

52/19 is great, ran it for a couple of years.... I like 53/20 (Sirius) and 47/18 (Orlowski) for general duties now (loads of skid patches on each), and 48x17 (Condor) for longer faster rides... and fixei touring.

I have found 48x19 perfect for brakeless. So it's 68 vs 72.I am worried 72 might be ever so slightly high. Will give it a try though init.

Might have to get a 20 tooth cog.

Tempted to rep, thought better of it.
This bike will be up and running come spring time. There is just no point in building the wheels yet as I won't be riding it until the weather gets better.

Personally I think it's best to stick with one ratios, even in the summer it's nice to ride knowing exactly how it will ride.
I only change it to a 20t (from 48/19) due to carrying 20kg more equipment making it feel the same as an unladen bicycle with 19t but that it.

It's still in London, dude called Ryan owns it now... He paid £200 for it I think from his mate that bought off you.

can we see a picture of it now?

Yeah so it's confirmed, will be riding this brakeless. When I get paid I will be ordering spokes and rims. to build up the wheels once and for all.
Was contemplating archetypes but I think I've come around to TB14s or Open Pro CDs.
I want to experience the whole 23c on 23mm wide rims. But Open Pro's don't have a damn good reputation for nothing which is why I'm keeping them in mind.. Does anyone know the width of Open Pro CDs?
Spoke wise, I was thinking DT Alpine III's.

Mavic are old fashion, while other rims manufacturer is heading toward the right direction, for some reason Mavic still insist on being stuck in the dark ages.
They're the only other "high end" wheels manufacturer who doesn't go wide rims like other (HED, Velocity, Zipp, Roval, etc. to name but a few).
Open Pro CD is the same as Open Pro.
