  • riiiight... what was that about filing them down again?

  • No one'll want them after Jake's spent a weekend developing his right arm...

  • POC. You think that is better looking than the Dia-compe? Good if you were building a steampunk bike though.

  • Nooooooo!

Don't listen to them! Drilling is NOT the answer. Just think of those beautiful Panasonic stamped fork crowns!

**Plus the drop is so tiny you'll have a nightmare finding a caliper that will fit. **

And if you get a pre-drilled fork, it'll affect the geometry and therefore the handling. Sod that.

Clamp on is fine. Ask Edmundro at Norths, he and I both got clamp-ons at the same time. And we're both fine.

+1 I've been using mine round Londons famous Muswell Hill, I will say the pads are fairly wonk(Salmon Koolstops seem to help apparently) on my unmachined rims and are a tad juddery. Combined with a manly whip-skid they stop way better than the 600ax on my road bike.
I was gonna drill but there was no room on the back side of the crown without risk of cracking it. (I don't have sexy njs to worry about though).
It's a brake, it's there to keep your teeth in place, not look pretty.

  • Ugh after reading this I am definitely going to fit my brake, I just enjoy riding brakeless so much.

  • Have the brake, you don't have to use it. First three months of having mine I barely used it because I so used to brakless (I got mine for legal reasons rather than fear of failure). But then I became lazy....

  • Anyone know anyone that can get a clamp on at trade price? They're so costly.

  • Oh and b&d no I don't have white tyres. That isn't my photo.

This bike cost you how many $$$ and you're whining about the price of a brake?

Word on the street is that Ben's chiseled calves ain't what they once were.

  • I have to pay rent now ed!

Decided to not ride it for a while anyway

  • dat paint job, god dammit

  • I have a clamp on bake for cheaps if you want jb, all black

  • I have a clamp on bake for cheaps if you want jb, all black

This sounded delicious up until the 'all black' part... :(

  • I will match the carbon wheels ;)

  • I have a clamp on bake for cheaps if you want jb, all black

    How much is cheaps?

Have been considering it, not that I really need one as my njs is no heavy mileage bike...

  • I will match the carbon wheels ;)

you turning into a black hoop?

  • v-l. pmd.

  • I'm pretty rotund already

  • Superprecise a while ago got a custom fork made by Ted James for his track frame that'll take standard brake at the same time still look great with the frame.

    expensive solution, but one that'll still look good;

failing that, just drum brake that bitch up.

  • My vote goes to not being a girl and forget the brake. :)

  • ^racist

  • sexist?

  • bike still not fit for purpose?

  • Use foot on front or back tyre to modulate speed.

This has happened twice to me - was pretty scary but i got over it.

Never a more passive HTFU statement...
