I need a brake fam. I know you ride in hilly Bristol without a brake but I just don't enjoy riding brakeless. I go faster with a brake. Faster is funner :-)
I reckon I'm slower now I have a brake. Or maybe it's just I don't ride like a dickhead as much.

I agree with all of the above to be fair. Apart from what Theo said! You sir, chat shit! My wheel will not be exploding.
I guess drilling would make the most sense. Most probably Reynolds Blue.
Bodie I never, ever thought I'd rep you but I may have to after that comment ;-) The Indy Fab? When's it supposed to get there?
There are some quite attractive clamp-on brakes available. IIRC BLB have a rather smart looking one that won't cost you to much tramp-juice money.
The bloke at the shipping company said "three to four days". I've been here a week. I may have to get medieval on his ass.

will it look like a red pancake when you have finished with him?

He'll have earache if that's what you mean.
There are certain images which I can't access here.
No bash-sites when V's travelling.

The clamp ons are a pain in the ass to fit properly though and if youre not careful they can scratch your headset. Worth bearing that in mind.
Took me about half an hour and it's been perfect since. The Dia Compe one has a little screw that pushes it out away from the headset so you don't even have to worry about that.

Lol. Where?
Ben's right in that drilling is not the answer. But then the clamp-on route isn't the answer either. Without sounding obvious, just go for the less permanent option first and see if it meets your needs. I'm not so precious about bikes anymore so I wouldn't think twice about drilling if there was a decent brake that fit. Regularly ridden and not afraid to show it > heirloom on the wall.

just not brakes

There's a picture somewhere of a decent looking clamp-on brake.
Fucked if I can find it though.

Buy a stupid crabon front to distract from the life-ending ugliness of a clamp-on.

I potatochopped it onto your frame ;) -

That's the fucker.

maybe a DID or a KMC BMX chain?
-
• #515
Brakes schmakes. You might as well sell this and buy a crate.
-
• #516
izumi super toughness ftw! just make sure you use a strong chain tool, snapped two before I had to go get a workshop quality one which managed to push out the pin.

-
• #518
Paul, what the fuck? That is not attractive.

• #519
It looks better than the usual Mongolian clusterfuck that clamp-on brakes usually are.

Henry has firsts ;-) Not that they're ever leaving my side. It's awful! Dia Compe is much nicer.
