I had the grey suit. It was the only good suit there. Put all my money on that from a shop down Ladbroke Grove. We borrowed the scooters for the shoot. None of us rode. Hell, we were all unemployed and just bumming around.
That's my youth that is... the bit that immediately followed being homeless anyway.
Strange connection to the forum... that wall is now where Black Heart is in Camden which is owned by a forumenger.

Wiggins becomes the greatest ever British Olympian after Phelps becomes the greatest ever Olympian.
I wonder if they allow them selves to celebrate with a couple of beers. Would be a laugh going out on the town with those twoHow many events can swimmers compete in?

Wiggo's interview is pretty cool, he doesn't even know where he is LOL.
'The crowd were awesome where ever we are'

Wiggins's fear is palpable.

He had that photo taped to his stem to spur him on.

How many more of these 'claw' photos do you have, Lucifer?
Is there going to be a stream of uncomfortable-looking cyclists being mauled by a hairy, gurning northerner during the track racing?

Loads, although strangely the victims expression is always the same.

I'm very surprised there's not a template that aspiring young cyclists can use, just so they can feel what it's like to finally make it and get to pose with The Claw.

epic scenes on my patch at thames ditton / city arms pub.. i handed the start list to a bunch of kids at our crossing point asked them to call out every name on the list with nationality when teh outriders appeared down the portsmouth rd.. they fricking loved it, reckon we created a few new fans to the sport today. loads of americans, norwegians and danes with us too.
another long day, i'm shit tired now.. my gamesmaker programme is done, unless i get the call for MTB events for the final weekend..

-

I've just re-watched the end of the thing.
The crowd went mental for Wiggins. Just fucking bonkers.
Not just banging the boards, but it looked like some orgasmic mosh pit.
That image is a blast from the past.
Kathryn is in it. She was going out with Graham Coxon at the time and turned him onto the music. Kathryn is next to Chris, who is on the far left. Chris, Johnny and Todd were the original Menswear members. But Todd left. I was in the band for blagging purposes, but nothing more. Retts was Johnny's girl, on the scooter on the right. And the girl in front of me I can't even recall the name of, she was an absolute ringer for Jodie Foster and I'd only met her a few weeks earlier in Heathrow Airport. I'd dragged her along, and she was placed in the centre for that photo.
Strange days.
