  • as you can on the picture. no problems at all.

  • Just curious, did you drill the Alpinas yourself?

  • yes, really easy

  • ready. finally. rides great.

  • Awesome

How did you drill the Alpinas yourself? I'm contemplating drilling my alpinas and would love some advice. Absolutely lovely build, Eingang by the way.

  • Your Alpina are different and may require a different process, I know for example some of the modern forks have what looks to be a pull or lunch through hole in them.

Uh, yeah. On closer inspection I noticed that there seems to be a screw or a bit of metal going through the fork crown. And there seems to be a small circular indentation at the back of the crown

  • same as mine which was bought this year.
start drilling with the back with a small drill and then go bigger and bigger, 8 should be the last size. front is beeing tricky as you need a straight line for the end. last drill should be a 5 drill. then the screw comes also out.

i ended up with 7 in the front to get a straight line, but don't worry as it works well and save.

  • i second eingang. did it also to mine, albeit with a pillar drill. once you get the screw out the work is done.

  • I love this frame, very nice set up!

  • bought a 49t sugino mighty competition chainring from japan, will see how the old campa style chainring looks like with the black omnium on this build.

  • last change in the set up. sugino mighty competition 49t chainring and clear oury grips.

bike will be stored in my bike box in the basement till next spring.

  • looks awesome man! i prefer that shape to my dolan

  • crank & chainring somehow optically wont fit together (my 2 cents)

No way, yours is definitely more desirable than a seta.

i know and to be honest, the seta is more hanging instead of riding around. i was just interested to see how an old campa-style silver chainring would look like with the modern black crank.

i also think that i will sell the bike with the beginning of spring next year as i don't really ride fixed anymore especially as the cartilage in my right knee is badly injured.

why thank you. still need some new tyres..

  • Crank and chainring looks good together.
Thought clear oury grips and that the picture is taken from low height makes
    it look not as desirable.
    Love it anyway.
